HCI announces a Major Milestone– 500th class of its’ Community for Immunity Program of yoga and meditation Milpitas, CA June 3, 2020
The Hindu Community Institute (HCI) today announced that its’ “Community for Immunity” (CFI) program (launched on March 14, 2020) has today completed its’ 500th session and served 17,000 attendees. These free online yoga classes were set up in response to the Covid-19 lockdown. The purpose of this program was to provide a wellness program several times a day to families, including seniors and children.
In announcing the milestone, HCI Board Member, and yoga-meditation teacher, Mr. Gaurav Rastogi noted, “The program is driven by the Hindu tradition of selfless service, karma yoga, where everyone gains by giving. Our 40 highly trained and authentic yoga teachers have come together to provide this valuable service to everyone, regardless of background, affiliation, or race.”
The CFI program offers seven classes every day, with special classes for yoga postures, Om chanting, pranayama breathwork, dhyana meditation, Kids and Seniors yoga. Registered participants join from across the US, and some internationally.
CFI Program Director and yoga teacher Ms. Latha Vasan commented, “The teachers came together organically and formed a strong community leveraging their best practices with each other. This resulted in exponential growth in the number of participants. This has been a source of deep satisfaction and enthusiasm among the CFI instructors and the HCI team. For the attendees, this has been a life-changing experience.”
Regular CFI attendee Nita J from southern CA wrote, “Thank you so much for delivering wonderful online yoga classes. All the instructors are great and so dedicated. During the current times, these classes have given me direction and inspiration. They have provided discipline and routine in my life. Once things return more to normalcy, I hope you will continue the online classes.”
