This past weekend, westsideforwardsf organized a resistance rally at Sunset Dunes. We’re proud to help with the permitting that made it possible.

We’re also thankful for former Supervisor Gordon Mar’s leadership that first sparked the park vision, and his continued support with his recent No on G endorsement!

These community events and protests show why we need spaces like Sunset Dunes for neighbors to come together.

More than 50 full-sized, locally salvaged Monterey cypress logs went into bringing Shipwreck Cove at Sunset Dunes to life—roughly 800 linear feet in total.

Green Waste Recycle Yard transformed them into 14 custom cypress benches, well over 100 log rounds and climbing pieces, and lumber for features throughout the park.

Seeing these materials at the GWRY yard is one thing. Seeing them transformed into a playground full of kids is another. We’re proud of our crew’s work and grateful to everyone who trusted us to be part of the project.

Material that might otherwise have been chipped now has a new life along San Francisco’s coast, giving kids a place to climb, explore, and have fun.

Head out to Sunset Dunes on any given afternoon and you’ll probably run into Brian and Olivia. They’re part of an incredible community of neighbors who take care of the park. It’s their home away from home.

Cast aside all the political debate, and vote No on G for the families raising their children here at Sunset Dunes.

🎃🌊The Great Hauntway is TWO WEEKS AWAY (Sun, Oct 25th, 1-4pm), and we need 🫵 your help.

We need help setting up, keeping our guests safe and leaving Sunset Dunes cleaner than we found it.

Volunteer shifts are split so you will have plenty of time to enjoy the activities.
