Thanks to everyone for your interest in our foundation. A special thanks to the hundreds of amazing students who allowed us to be a small part of their lives. We know you will go on to do great things.

The Glennon Foundation regrets nothing, except the fact that we now suspend our operations indefinitely.

Since 2003 The Glennon Foundation has given grants to well over 400 deserving Students in the California Public college system. Every student we helped was at risk of not being able to afford a College education. The pursuit of ones dreams and a lifelong career are values we hold in high regard.

I'm sending a request out to everyone who has "liked" our page. We desperately need more "likes" and more contributions. Please, please ask everyone you know to "like us. then ask them to ask everyone they know to do the same. If we are to build a network of people committed to the higher education of youth in California, we are going to need all the help we can get.

The General Assembly of the "Occupy Cal" movement has called for a general strike of all UC students on Tuesday November 15th, stating;

"We also call for simultaneous solidarity actions in workplaces and k-12 schools. We will organize through daily, 5pm strike planning meetings at our encampments, followed by general assemblies.

The Glennon foundation firmly believes that in light of the unprecedented tuition hikes and accompanying police violence towards peaceful student protestors, it is every students right to stand for peaceful demonstration. We commend the students and Teachers who are taking part in the "Occupy" movement, expressing their 1st "amendment" rights.

The Foundation will not discourage nor encourage students receiving grants from joining in the General Strike, but we applaud those willing to fight for their rights and the betterment of our society. Everyone must decide for themselves how much they are willing to give to insure a better future for all of our citizens.

Hopefully none of the students or graduates here have student loans, but it you do, there is some good information in this article.

Currently, an income-based repayment program lets people with student debt reduce their loan payments to 15 percent of their discretionary income; after 25 years, remaining debt is forgiven. Last year, Congress passed a law reducing that 15 percent to 10 percent and forgiving remaining debt after 20...

This is going to severely burden both our foundation as well as the students we serve. We are currently faced with the agonizing decision to try and help more students with less money. Every day the number of applicants grows, unfortunately, the costs of attending public colleges in California is growing at a faster rate. Please call your representatives and tell them cuts to education are unacceptable.

With the certainty of deep cuts to the University of California and California State University in the new state budget - each by $650 million - comes another certainty: higher tuition to make up the difference. "Cuts...

Thousands of teenagers living in California illegally were brought to this country by their parents as young children. Some of them have worked hard and done well in school; on both human and practical grounds, it would be wrong to put a college education out of financial reach by requiring them to

This demonstrates at least a momentary period of sanity and lucidity in the SCOTUS. A success for California and AB540 students.
