All 65 turbines are now installed at Revolution Wind!. The 704MW project will power over 350,000 homes in Rhode Island and Connecticut and will become fully operational later this year, adding a meaningful new source of domestic power to the New England grid at a time when the region needs it most.

What happens when offshore wind turbines become part of the marine environment?

During the 2026 Block Island Inshore Fishing Tournament, anglers got a firsthand look at the artificial reef effect developing around turbine foundations.

From a brief whale sighting on the way out to catching black sea bass right by the turbines, Turn Forward’s Erin McLean shares what she observed on the water and why seeing offshore wind up close can change perspectives. Read it here: https://turnforward.org/fishing-turbines/

This just in: wind power generation in the U.S. has reached an all-time high.

It’s a reminder that America’s energy needs require an all-of-the-above approach. Offshore wind has an important role to play. It helps strengthen grid reliability, diversify our energy mix, and deliver the power needed to support future growth.

America needs more energy. Offshore wind can be part of the solution.

Energy affordability depends on having enough reliable supply on the grid, which starts with a balanced, all-of-the-above approach.

In a recent Washington Examiner op-ed, Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY-17) and Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions’s President and CEO Heather Reams emphasize that “rather than picking winners and losers, policymakers should encourage investment across the energy sector and allow markets and innovation to determine where different technologies work best.”

As demand continues to grow, a diverse energy mix helps reduce risk, strengthens reliability, and ensures power is available when it’s needed most.

Bringing new domestic resources online, including offshore wind, will be essential to maintaining reliability and keeping costs manageable.

Over the past two weeks, two major offshore wind projects have begun delivering power to the U.S. grid. This is real, measurable progress for an industry that is often discussed but now increasingly delivering.

Projects like Revolution Wind are now supplying electricity to the Northeast, with capacity to power hundreds of thousands of homes and provide long-term, fixed-price energy that helps stabilize costs for consumers.

As electricity demand continues to grow, the conversation is shifting from potential to performance. Offshore wind is not just a future resource — it is actively contributing to grid reliability, cost stability, and energy security today. https://www.power-eng.com/renewables/wind-energy/dont-look-now-but-more-offshore-wind-projects-are-sending-power-to-the-us-grid/

Great to see this high of capacity factor coming out of Ørsted U.S.'s South Fork Wind project!

Reliable renewable energy in action: South Fork Wind is showing up when it matters.

According to the latest data, South Fork Wind generated power on 99% of days and was producing electricity over 90% of the time.

For Long Island, that means affordable, reliable, clean energy from a local source — exactly what a constrained grid needs.

After years of development, Revolution Wind is now delivering power to Southern New England’s grid. 👏

Local experts, speaking with NBC 10 WJAR Providence, highlight why this matters: offshore wind provides long-term, predictable pricing through fixed contracts, helping protect consumers from volatility in global energy markets.

At a time of rising electricity demand and fluctuating energy costs, projects like this bring stable, domestic power online when it’s needed most.

Early indications on cost are also encouraging, showing power from Revolution Wind is being delivered at rates at or below current electricity prices, with the potential to help lower costs over time.

Offshore wind does not significantly interfere with modern military radar or national security operations.

Today’s defense and radar systems are designed to operate in complex environments, including alongside offshore wind development. Recent analysis from Spectrum highlights that modern capabilities ensure that offshore wind and national security priorities can move forward together.

As electricity demand grows and the need for reliable, domestic energy increases, offshore wind remains a scalable resource that strengthens the grid while aligning with broader national priorities.
