Le Donne d'Italia We are a multigenerational Italian women's group dedicated to promoting & preserving Italian Culture

Le Donne d‘Italia was established in 2010 and was San Francisco's first Italian Women’s club since the 1970s. We were established to promote and preserve the Italian culture while building friendship between women. Our efforts are to honor those Italians who came before us and the beauty of the Italian Culture. We do this through social activities and events, projects in the community, and supporting other organizations in our Italian community. Co-Presidents: Julia Dondero and Jennifer Consalvi

“Hundreds of Innocent Italians Detained At Sharp Park”

Everyone who viewed this exhibit at the San Jose Italian Family Festa was astounded to learn that Italians were detained and interned during World War II, that they had never heard of it, that this history is not taught, and that a detention center existed in Sharp Park, Pacifica. 

This exhibit and the stories of those detained was presented by Le Donne d’Italia’s Historian of Italian Internment, Christina Olivolo. Contact us to learn more.

This weekend, our donne joined us for a “Home Cook” cooking class and w**e pairing on a beautiful rooftop solarium overlooking the city. Members took turns teaching the group their cherished family recipes, complete with family stories, anecdotes, and hands-on learning. Each course was paired with a regional Italian w**e that matched the origin of each dish, presented by a Napa Valley w**e maker. We are so grateful to all of our members who volunteered their time and skills to make this event a complete success!

Wow, what an amazing evening with the Consulate General of Italy, San Francisco! It was an incredible honor to celebrate Festa della Repubblica with . The crowd was buzzing with enthusiasm for the friendship between Italy and San Francisco, and you couldn’t help but feel like everyone there was instant family. We are so grateful to be part of this vibrant community of smart, kind, and welcoming individuals. The ability to take part in events like these reaffirm our commitment to preserving our cultural and heritage. Grazie! 🇮🇹

Buona Festa della Mamma! 💐🌸 Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible women in our lives, including our moms, grandmas, aunties, sisters, pet moms, and all the amazing women who guide and support us. One of the best parts of Le Donne d’Italia is the intergenerational friendships our members form with each other. We have women from all walks of life who strengthen our community with their intelligence and compassion, and we celebrate each and every one of them today.
