With school starting up again, we want to reflect on one highlight from this summer. In mid-July, Act To Change invited our team to join them in Los Angeles for this years Youth Summit surrounding the theme: “together forward”.

A huge congrats to AYR members David Siu, Ethan Su, and Camille Chu for completing Act to Change’s youth ambassador program and also to AYR alumni Matthew Sugiyama for receiving the Changemaker of the year award.

To wrap up AAPI Heritage Month, our team co-hosted the very first SF Youth Leadership Exposition in collaboration with , , and .confidencesf. After months of planning, over 150+ youth leaders from across the SF Bay Area came together to explore what youth leadership means to them. From a keynote panel led by our incoming executive director, David Siu to 4 workshops; attendees were left inspired by the youth they met. Thank you to our many members who came out to support us.

Last Thursday, board members gathered to attend the Impact Lab held at the historic Cameron House in San Francisco. The Impact Lab centered around the theme for the next AWAS Summit – We See Each Other. Through thoughtful and reflective conversations, this event helped us understand how support within the Asian women’s community shows up in real life: the questions people are exploring, the stories they want reflected, and the goals they are actively building toward.

Here’s a closer look at our favorite moments from summit in NYC🗽. We left so inspired and uplifted to bring our communities together. Meeting with olympians and movie stars we’ve looked up for our whole life is something we will never forget! Thank you and everyone who made this space possible.

Celebrating what it means to be “Asian + American”! Our team had the incredible honor of being invited to the 2026 Heritage Month Summit in NYC! This year’s theme brought together community leaders, creators, and advocates to create discussions of representation, belonging and the future for the AAPI community. Hearing and meeting with leaders and icons left us inspired and ready to add these insights to our work!
