🌿 Barefoot on My Birthday
Today is my birthday.
Over the years, birthdays have become less about celebration and more about pausing. They invite me to notice where I am, what has shaped me, and what wants to unfold next.
This morning, I took off my shoes.
I stood barefoot on wet grass and soft moss. The coolness beneath my feet, the uneven ground, the quiet of the morning… it reminded me that life isn’t happening somewhere else. It is already here, beneath my feet.
As I walked, I noticed something else.
That feeling doesn’t stay behind when I leave the forest. I bring it with me onto the dance floor. The softness of the moss becomes part of how I move, breathe, and experience my body.
It became the inspiration for my newest Body Notes—a reflection on birthdays, nature, and another trip around the sun.
If you’d like to read the full story, I’d love to share it with you.

I’d love to hear from you.
How do you celebrate another trip around the sun? Is there a place, a ritual, or something you return to each year?
With mossy feet,
Bettina-Kira
