Our hearts are with Nepal. 🇳🇵

As the country responds to the devastating floods and landslides, our thoughts are with everyone affected and with the first responders, government agencies, humanitarian organizations, and local communities working through this emergency.

We are in close contact with our team on the ground and receiving regular updates. We are grateful to report that all Building Education schools and the communities we currently serve are safe and have not sustained damage.

We recognize that many communities across Nepal have not been as fortunate.

Disaster response and rebuilding happen in stages:

1. Rescue & Immediate Relief
Search and rescue, emergency shelter, food, clean water, medical care, and protection.

2. Recovery & Assessment
Assessing damage and needs, restoring essential services and access, and helping communities stabilize.

3. Reconstruction & Resilience
Rebuilding schools, water systems, energy, roads, and essential community infrastructure with the goal of rebuilding safer and stronger.

Building Education’s work has always lived primarily in the reconstruction stage.

Our work in Nepal began following the 2015 earthquake, when we became involved in rebuilding schools and communities. That reconstruction work ultimately became the foundation of Building Education.

For nearly a decade since, we have worked alongside rural communities to build and rebuild schools and the essential infrastructure surrounding them including water, energy, roads, and livelihoods.

Right now, the priority is immediate humanitarian response. We defer to the first responders, government authorities, and specialized organizations leading those efforts.

As Nepal moves into recovery and reconstruction, Building Education intends to join the rebuilding efforts where our experience and resources can have the greatest impact.

We began our work in Nepal during reconstruction after the 2015 earthquake.

We will be there for the rebuild again. 🇳🇵

Every child deserves a chance at education, no matter their background. đź“š
Building Education sponsors 25–30 students from JEPC Education Center in Pokhara, Nepal. These are orphaned children, earthquake survivors, and kids from families who would otherwise be left behind.
We cover school fees, uniforms, materials, and tutoring and for the most hard-working students, enrollment in English Medium School, because English opens doors that nothing else can.

Looking back at one of our earliest projects and one that's still close to us.High in Nepal's Chitwan hills, 62 children some only six climbed a mountain ridge for two hours just to reach school. They always made the climb. The school was the part that had stopped being worth it: cracked by the 2015 earthquake, slowly emptying out.So together with the Chepang community and local government, we rebuilt Siraichuli Primary from the ground up three new classrooms, clean water, proper toilets, a place to play.These kids never stopped showing up. We just helped make sure there was finally something worth the climb.

The story of building Sagarmatha Secondary School was never just about constructing classrooms, it was about building opportunity, hope, and a stronger future for the community.

From the beginning, we knew this journey couldn’t be done alone. Together with the Local Government, school management, the local community, and our partner Ek Artha Foundation Nepal, we came together with one shared vision: to create a better learning environment for the next generation.

The Local Government stepped forward with long-term commitments:
• Expanding the school up to Grade 10
• Adding more teachers
• Planning for a future ICT Lab

That collaboration made this project truly meaningful. It wasn’t charity — it was collective effort.

But the journey itself was far from easy.

The school is located on top of a hill with difficult road access. Then came the monsoon season, bringing heavy rain, transportation challenges, delays, and countless obstacles during construction.

Still, the community never gave up.

Step by step, brick by brick, the new classrooms slowly began to rise. Every challenge became part of the story. Every contribution helped shape the future of the school.

And finally, after months of hard work, the project was completed and officially handed over — a symbol of what’s possible when communities, organizations, and local leadership work together with a shared purpose.

The truth is — it can.

At Building Education, we do far more than construct classrooms. We help build systems that create lasting impact for entire communities.

It starts with funding.
We raise funds and secure grants that support local projects focused on education, opportunity, and access — especially for women and children.

But real impact goes beyond infrastructure.
That’s why we invest in people.

Through local empowerment conferences and community programs, we equip individuals with entrepreneurial skills, connect them with training and partners, and open doors to real opportunities. Because sustainable change happens when communities are empowered to lead their own future.

And our work doesn’t stop once the project is complete.
We continue supporting communities through mentorship, consulting, and long-term milestone tracking to help create economic sustainability and independence.

For us, it has never been just about education.
It’s about building resilience, opportunity, and a future communities can truly own.

School #6 | Impact Assessment Visit

Before every school project, we begin by listening.

During our visit to School #6, we conducted an impact assessment to better understand the needs of the students, teachers, and surrounding community. This process helps ensure that our work is not only responsive, but also rooted in the realities of the people we serve.

In partnership with Karkhana Samuha, we explored how education infrastructure, learning environments, and community-centered solutions can create long-term impact for children in rural Nepal.

Every school begins with a conversation. Every partnership begins with trust. And every step forward brings us closer to building not just classrooms, but futures.
