The JEDI Committee of ASLA-NCC is proud to announce the 2026 Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) Scholarship is now open for submissions!

Two recipients will each receive a one-time award that includes a one-year membership to both National ASLA and ASLA-NCC. Recipients will hold an honorary position as the JEDI Advocate on the ASLA-NCC Chapter, receive complimentary access to select ASLA-NCC events, and gain valuable opportunities for leadership, professional connection, and long-term engagement within the landscape architecture community.

Through this initiative, we aim to provide access, resources, and meaningful opportunities to individuals who may not have had them in the past, while fostering a more inclusive and representative pipeline of future leaders in landscape architecture.

It seeks to reduce barriers to entry into the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) for BIPOC individuals—including Black, Indigenous, AANHPI, MENA, LGBTQIA+, and other marginalized communities. Our goal is to encourage long-term engagement with ASLA-NCC and support the career development of diverse professionals within the field.

This is America at 250: Let’s Celebrate the Plurality of Our American Heritage

For the past 16 years, ASLA has collaborated with the National Park Service to host the Historic American Landscapes Survey (HALS) Challenge, a competition to document historic landscapes that tell the stories of our nation.

In ordinary times, we would be jointly promoting the 17th annual HALS Challenge, but this year, ASLA is calling on its members, students, historians, and other practitioners to submit documentation of historic landscapes in our communities.

This is an open call to complete a historical report that highlights the history, significance, and character-defining features of a selected landscape. In recognition of the 250th anniversary of the founding of United States, ASLA is encouraging reports that broadly address the theme of landscapes of liberty and freedom. All reports submitted by August 31st will be recognized at the ASLA Conference on Landscape Architecture in September.

For more information, visit link in bio.

Email complete submissions to ASLA and to Scott Keys at NPS .

🚨ATTN students registered for the 2026 Conference on Landscape Architecture🚨

📖 Experience Los Angeles with fresh eyes and a sketchbook in hand. Sketch LA ’26 invites you to explore the city’s layered landscapes—where civic landmarks, cultural districts, historic neighborhoods, and coastal edges come together in a dynamic urban collage.

🗺 Choose between 6 guided routes: from the monumental core of Downtown to the intimate textures of Pasadena and cinematic Culver City to the expansive horizons of Santa Monica, each route reveals a different facet of LA’s identity.

🖊 Along the walk, Session Leaders will provide informative insights and approaches to composition, simplifying detail, and editing to make your sketches less rigid, more spontaneous, and readable.

All routes run simultaneously and are FREE with conference registration. The number of participants is limited to 225, so don't wait!
