From healing to building 🌿✨

Maseabata Martha Moshebi, founder of Hooked by SABO, began her crochet journey in 2021 as a way to navigate emotional healing today, she’s turning that same thread into opportunity.

Through our programme, Maseabata is growing a brand that blends creativity, culture, and storytelling, while reaching new markets through ShopConsciously - Fair Fashion orders.

This is the kind of work that reminds us why access and opportunity matter.

What if waste wasn’t the end of a story… but the beginning of something beautiful?

Today, on International Zero Waste Day, we’re reflecting on the role fashion plays in shaping how we see and treat waste. In an industry often defined by excess, we’ve been privileged to witness a different narrative through the women in our programme.

Women who are taking what’s been discarded, plastic, fabric, forgotten materials and transforming them into pieces filled with purpose, dignity, and creativity.

This work goes beyond sustainability. It’s about creating access, restoring agency, and reimagining what’s possible for both people and the planet.

Because when women are given opportunity, waste becomes wealth, and overlooked materials become stories worth wearing. 💚

So… we blinked and International Women’s Day came and went.

But honestly, celebrating women isn’t something we squeeze into one day. It’s in the everyday work of women who are stitching, weaving, carving, designing, and building businesses across the continent.

Which brings us to this friendly little reminder

Applications for our Makers Programme are still open.

If you’re a woman artisan or creative looking to grow your business and launch your products in the US through our sister platform, ShopConsciously, this could be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.

Think mentorship, community, and a pathway to global markets.

If you’ve been meaning to apply… consider this your sign 😉

✨ Hello, International Women’s History Month 🤍 ✨

And what better way to begin than by celebrating a woman who chose to grow beyond her own limits.

Last week, we told you about the maker who fulfilled an 80-unit order. Today, we say her name with pride: Sim Cele, Founder of , all the way from KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.

When she joined the programme in 2023, her biggest challenge was something so many makers know intimately: how to scale when you’re a one-woman team?

Step by step, order by order, mindset by mindset… she did it.Not perfectly. Not overnight. But intentionally.

And that’s what this month is about for us:
🌍 women who are building
🧵 women who are stretching their capacity
📦 women who are saying yes to bigger rooms than they’ve ever entered before

Sim is not just “fulfilling orders.”
She is rewriting what growth can look like for African makers.

If you are dreaming about:
– launching your products internationally
– scaling what you’ve already started
– moving from surviving to strategising

2026 is your year, and we’re building it with you.

Applications for the Women Enabled Enterprises Makers Programme 2026 are now open 🤍

Today, on , we celebrate the power of purpose-driven organisations working tirelessly to shape a more just and inclusive world.

Our work goes beyond programmes; we create pathways. Pathways to markets. Pathways to skills development. Pathways to confidence, capital, and community for women makers across the African continent.

From rural artisans to emerging creative entrepreneurs, we walk alongside women as they refine their craft, strengthen their businesses, and access opportunities that were once out of reach.

Being an NGO means being rooted in service, collaboration, and long-term impact. It means advocating for equitable systems while building practical bridges that enable women to participate meaningfully in local and global value chains.

Today, we honour every woman boldly building her vision, and every partner who believes in the power of women-led enterprise. The work continues, and so does the impact. 💛

You joined a 12-week programme in 2024…
and now something remarkable has happened✨✨

There are orders.
There is movement.
There is proof of concept.

Not the loud kind.
Not the in-your-face kind.
The quiet, disciplined kind that speaks for itself.

An 80-unit order.
Executed.
Shipped.
Delivered.

This is the part people don’t always see.
The refining.
The consistency.
The ability to move from idea to ex*****on.

No hype.
Just results.

And this is exactly what we mean when we say 2026 is the Year of the Maker.

From learning to delivering.
From making to supplying.
From potential to proof.

We love to see it.

Tag a maker who’s ready to move from “I make nice things” to “I supply internationally” 👇🏾

POV: You’re a woman maker from Africa

And you just sold out in the US.

That’s not a fantasy.
That’s positioning.

Through our ecosystem, makers don’t just learn. They access real retail platforms internationally.

Our 12-week Makers Programme starts on 7 April 2026.

This is the year you stop being “almost ready.”
This is the Year of the Maker.

Tag a maker who needs to see herself on global shelves and refer them to our application link👇🏾

This one is for the dreamers and the doers.
For the women creating anyway.
For the ones who’ve been waiting for access, not validation.

We are still accepting applications for our free virtual programme, supporting women makers across the African continent with the opportunity for selected products to be launched on a global stage.🇺🇸🌍

Accessories • Clothing • Home décor

This is your chance.

is many things, a mom of three, a maker, a dreamer, a doer.

As the founder of Bespoke Janey, she has a rare superpower: turning clay into badass accessories that feel both playful and powerful. Watching her creative process is pure joy, a reminder that creativity doesn’t disappear in motherhood; it evolves.

Today, Amy’s work is reaching customers in the US and it’s selling through the roof.

This is what happens when women are given space, support, and access to grow globally without losing themselves along the way.

Made by women. Deserves the market.

We meet women every day who are making beautiful, thoughtful, powerful things.
Often without access to the markets that could help their work travel further.

We believe that making is only part of the journey.
Being seen, supported, and able to trade sustainably matters just as much.

This is the work we do walking alongside women makers as they find their footing, their confidence, and their place in the market.

If you’re on that path, and this feels familiar, you can learn more about our programme here:

No rush. No pressure. Just possibility.

It started with a question: What’s possible when women makers are given real access?

This Fox interview captures a milestone moment the launch of the first self-service kiosk in Pleasanton in the US selling products made by women across Africa, through our sister organisation .

What you’re seeing is more than retail.
It’s women moving from local craft to global shelves.
It’s talent meeting opportunity.
It’s proof that African women makers can go much further than they’ve been allowed to imagine.

As we look to 2026 and beyond, this is the standard we’re setting bold access, global visibility, and women building wealth on their own terms.
