What a day at Stern Grove Music Festival!

The GLIDE Ensemble and The Change Band performed in front of thousands, and they brought the house down!

Led by our Director of Music Ministries, Zoe Ellis, the Ensemble gave Stern Grove a little taste of what we experience every Sunday at GLIDE.

Today at GLIDE Memorial Church, we celebrated the story of Loaves and Fishes. In this story, Jesus performs a miracle to feed over 5,000 men, women, and children from 5 loaves of bread and two fish. He does this in spite of claims from powerful disciples that there was not enough food to share.

Minister Marvin reminded the congregation that the grief and sorrow of this moment in history (following the murder of John the Baptist) did not kill Jesus’ capacity to give and to love. His grief did not make someone else’s suffering invisible.

Every Sunday, we celebrate the miracle of abundance and unconditional love at GLIDE. Today, that included honoring the late and great musical director Vernon Bush on his heavenly birthday.

We invite you to celebrate in GLIDE’s love every Sunday at 9am and 11am. See you there next Sunday!
