As the world continues to navigate life during a pandemic we understand the importance and need of a scholarship organization like Pinay Aspirations. So in 2020, we transitioned to interviewing candidates over Zoom and awarded scholarships to two amazing women. We realized that with today's technology we have the ability to extend not only the reach of our scholarship but also our network. If we can get enough support, we hope to help not only inspiring young Filipinas in the Bay Area but also throughout California and even beyond.

We are inviting Friends of Pinay Aspirations to join us this coming year on the Scholarship Committee, to not only help review applications but also mentor future scholars. The time commitment is small (approximately one week of your time). If you're unable to donate your time, please consider donating to the scholarship (http://www.pinayaspirations.org/donate.html). Whether it is through your time or monetary donation, we hope that you will help us build an even stronger foundation of support for years to come!

Pinay Aspirations Leadership celebrated our 12th annual scholarship recipient, Hannah, during a nice brunch with her and her awesome and supportive father, talking about her plans to start at University of Seattle this fall semester as she majors in nursing.

Hannah suffered from Hypopigmented Mycosis Fungoides for many years and has found a passion for helping others in medical settings as many did for her.

While in high school Hannah was involved with the dance team, honors program, and religious youth groups.

For Hannah being Filipina-American means "being proud of the Filipino culture, being grateful and always trying hard to succeed."
