They Were Engaged!

Their wedding is a few months away.

He stays in Lagos and she stays in Calabar.

She went for a Seminar in Lagos and decided to pay Him a surprise visit at home.

She got to his house around 9pm and met Him getting ready to retire for the night.

They were happy to see each other and she decided to spend the night and leave very early in the morning to her Aunty's place.

In the morning, she was already up and ready to move.

But he told her to hang on so he could drop her off on his way to the office.

So, she had a little breakfast while waiting for Him to finish up so they could leave.

He was ready and rushed to the dinning to have a cup of tea and few slices of bread as usual.

On getting to the dining, he realized there was no milk and he checked the flask to confirm if his fiancée had made his tea.

Well, the flask was empty as well.

So he called her to ask what happened.

And she responded by asking Him if he expected her to manage a tin of liquid milk for two of them.

She said she couldn't manage a tin of liquid Peak milk for two cups of tea.

She admitted to have used the whole tin of milk because she doesn't like sugar in her tea as she prefers her tea very creamy and thick.

She further told him to drink a Coke with his bread if he really had the need for breakfast that morning.

She also advised him to always stock his house with enough beverages to avoid such an occurrence as she wasn't ready to start mincing milk.

He told her he was really disappointed she could only think of herself by using the whole tin of milk and not consider him despite seeing that it was the last tin in the carton and he lived in an area that had no shops around.

He was aware he had just a tin of milk left in the house and he had planned to go grocery shopping by weekend due to his busy schedule.

She was an unexpected guest and he wasn't aware of her trip to Lagos, so the issue of expecting her and making plans for an extra mouth was out of it.

This little episode brought an argument that almost led to an exchange of words, but for the mature way He handled it and readily apologized because he didn't want them to leave in anger.

They quickly settled and He dropped her at her Aunty's place, gave her money as usual with lots of hugs and kisses and left for the office.

Two days later, He called her to break the engagement and call off the wedding plans.

Reason: He said the milk issue had opened his eyes to the kind of insensitive and selfish woman he was almost getting married to.

He said it meant just one thing to him, that his wife will not be a good manager of his finances and home so he doesn't need that kind of woman as a wife.

*Dear woman, never look down on yourself.*

Pregnant? Attend that interview if you wish. Stop thinking that they do not hire hire pregnant women.
Married with 10 kids? Apply for that job. Stop thinking they would prefer single ladies.
Single at 50? Show up for that opportunity. Stop thinking only married women fit in.

We keep asking for equal opportunity, but we do not even give ourselves the opportunity that we ask for.

I was heavily pregnant and attended an interview with 13 men. I was offered the job. They even discussed how much time I would need after the baby arrives.

Honestly, I didn't want to show up. My friend Bunmi, insisted that I attend. I did not know what I know now.

Recently I was seeking a driver to help do school runs for me. This particular woman was helping me look for a driver. She would call me everyday and give me updates. She went everywhere around. We wanted someone who lived close-by.

She finally got a driver. He is a mechanic who would leave his workshop at 1pm, walk to the house, pick up a car, pick the kids, drop them off and return back to his workshop. School is about 10 minutes away.

His condition was 40k monthly salary, if he does not submit copies of his drivers licence and double the price if we ask for copies of his drivers license.

Ah! Are you a thief? Do you want to steal my kids? Why is there a higher fee to just get a simple photocopy of your license? Where does that happen?

He angrily stormed out and declined the job.

When the woman who was helping to search for the drivers saw how fed-up I was, she went to my mum and whispered, "I can drive o, please will you take me for 30k?"

Oh my God!
You mean you could drive all this while and we were searching everywhere?

Her response, "Aunty, I thought you will want a man".

My heart sank.

This woman has no job and didn't think she deserved this job because she is a woman?

I was so mad at her. Why would you not give yourself a fair chance? Why?

Long story short - She is our kids driver now. I hired her immediately.
The kids love her eh.

She comes early and even helps to pack the school bags.
She even helps grandma with weekend errands.
She even helps to buy the school snacks in bulk.

It's been many months and she is one of my best hiring decisions.

Dear woman, please give yourself a chance.
Show up at the table like everyone else.
When you asked what you want, please ask for a drink like everyone else.

Such a proud moment to see so many ladies play such key roles at the historical inauguration of the 46th president of the United States Of America..

I watched Armanda Gorman recite her poem with pride, JLO and Lady Gaga sang with passion. Michelle Obama striding confidently by her husband with some power vibes... (power outfit I must say)

And the highlight of the day, Kamala Harris making history as America's first black Vice president

What a proud moment to be a "woman"

To all the amazing women out there, making it happen in your niche and in your space, this is a "shout out" to you and a reminder that you are strong, beautiful and "good enough"

US New President - Biden

Age : 78 Years

1. Wife & daughter died in road accident whilst going to purchase Christmas tree.

2. One son died due to brain cancer.

3. Second son due to co***ne addiction was removed from U S Navy.

4. Biden also had face muscles paralysis (Facial Palsy).

Despite the negative life situations this man at the age of 78 becomes the President of the powerful country in the world.

This is one of the perfect case study for the senior citizens of the world.

He will be physically and mentally fit to take this huge responsibility.
And we at the age of 60 think that every thing is over.

So all senior citizens take this as your New Beginning. Set your targets. You are still young. Work hard and achieve what you could not achieve till now.
Pass on to all senior citizens.😊

Rich and Independent: she is an ashawo

A bad child: It is all the mother’s fault because she spoilt him

She wants to play some sports: You're a girl. It's too difficult for you

She is single and drives a car: she would drive away all potential suitors.

She speaks her mind: She is bossy

Unmarried in her 20s/30s/40s: She is irresponsible 🤦🏿

Married: She is her husband's property

Cheating spouse: Its her fault. She made him do it.

Separated: She is out of control

Widowed: She killed her husband to take over his properties
She didn’t Mourn her late hubby well

Domestic Abuse: What did the woman do?

Our only crime is being a woman? Why are we blamed for everything?
