How many Broadway shows did George and Ira Gershwin write together?

More than a dozen.

From Lady, Be Good! and Funny Face to Girl Crazy, Of Thee I Sing, and Strike Up the Band, the Gershwin brothers helped define the sound of Broadway and created songs that remain beloved nearly a century later.

Their music gave us classics like "Someone to Watch Over Me," "I Got Rhythm," "Embraceable You," and "They Can't Take That Away from Me" — songs that have transcended the stage to become part of the Great American Songbook.

Join Music in Place on Sunday, June 14 at 4:00 PM at the Sonoma Valley Museum of Art for an afternoon celebrating the music, stories, and remarkable legacy of George and Ira Gershwin.

Discover the songs, the shows, and the genius behind one of America's most influential songwriting partnerships.
