Thank you to Mandy Yu and APA Family Support Services for joining us at St. Mark’s Square as part of our AAPI Heritage Month series.

Residents and community members learned about valuable housing resources, including rental assistance, utility support, and move-in assistance programs that help keep our neighbors safely housed.

We are grateful for organizations that empower our community through education, support, and care.

☀️ Fresh Air on the Square was a beautiful success! 🐾

Last week, the St. Mark’s Square community came together to soak up the sunshine, share some laughs, and enjoy a lovely stroll around the square.

Leading the pack was our favorite grand leader, Benson 🐶, who made sure everyone, from the youngest to the wisest, kept up the pace (and got their daily dose of puppy love).

We love seeing our intergenerational community thrive, connect, and enjoy the simple joys of fresh air together. Thank you to everyone who cheers us on and supports making moments like this possible! ❤️

Supervisor Myrna Melgar and Mayor Daniel Lurie announced a proposal to renew and expand the San Francisco Affordable Housing Trust Fund. This would help create a steady source of funding for affordable housing in San Francisco.

At St. Mark’s Square and Martin Luther Tower, we know how important affordable housing is. It helps people stay in their homes, stay connected to their community, and continue to call San Francisco home.

We are grateful to stand with so many partners working to make San Francisco more affordable for everyone.

To close out the school year together, students from Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep joined us for a creative afternoon of making wildflower seed balls, decorating take-home bags, and planting a few right here on campus so we can watch them grow over time 🌱 The students also added their own creative twist by making small clay creatures and markers to place where their wildflowers were planted.

As part of the project, everyone also wrote reflections on wildflower seed paper using prompts like: “What is one thing you want to plant in the world?” and “Write a wish for our community.” The seed paper was planted alongside the wildflowers, creating a beautiful reminder of the hopes, kindness, and care shared during the afternoon.

It was a meaningful way to celebrate the end of the school year through creativity, connection, and care for the space we share. We’re excited to see what blooms in the months ahead.

Huge thank you to San Francisco Opera for sending Cole Thomason-Redus to St. Mark’s Square for a wonderful Opera 101 presentation!

Cole gave us a fun, engaging, and informative look at 400 years of opera history, along with the terms and stories that help bring opera to life. Our residents had a great time learning, listening, and asking questions.

We are also deeply grateful to Next Village SF for this amazing partnership and for helping bring this special programming to our community.

Thank you, Cole, San Francisco Opera, and NEXT Village San Francisco!
