Boots to Books was created after service members were noticing a large divide between the current military transition programs and the college admissions process. B2B is committed to helping transitioning active duty, reserves, and national guard soldiers earn admission to competitive universities and get employed. B2B is volunteer based consisting of active duty soldiers, veterans, current colleg

e students and graduates across an array of industries; each with their own unique area of expertise. B2B is a completely free service for veterans.

We are so excited to congratulate the newest recipients of the Boots to Books Define Your Transition Scholarship!

Each recipient will receive up to $1,000 toward one industry-recognized certification, professional training, or licensure, plus optional resume and interview support to help turn that training into their next opportunity. Everyone selected will receive an email by the end of this week with instructions to claim their scholarship, so if your name is pictured, please keep an eye on your inbox!

This round brought more applications than any scholarship cohort we have ever run - thank you so much to everyone who took the time to apply! We truly wish we could support every applicant, but we can only allocate so much funding to each class.

If you were not selected this time, please apply again in the future. Past applications are one of many factors we consider when reviewing future applicants. They do not guarantee selection, but they can help us better understand your goals and continued commitment.

The support does not stop here. Our monthly Google Career Certificate Scholarship continues year-round, and the next round of our textbook and higher education resource scholarship acceptances goes out tomorrow. Countless students for that scholarship have already had books and course materials covered and shipped straight to their doors, and we are incredibly excited to keep that momentum going.

We have two scholarships open now and closing this month!

Boots to Books is incredibly excited to continue supporting members of the military community in accessing the education, training, and career resources they need to move forward.

The first is our Professional Upskilling Scholarship, which provides up to $1,000 toward one industry-recognized professional training, licensure, or certification aligned with the applicant’s career goals.

Recipients also get access to resume and career support while completing their training.

The second is our Education Resource Scholarship, which helps cover textbooks, course materials, or a laptop when education benefits are unavailable, exhausted, or simply do not cover everything.

We have offered this support every semester since Boots to Books began because sometimes one certification, textbook, or laptop is all it takes to remove distractions and allow someone to focus on what matters in that moment, their education.

And we are excited to share that the first round of books is going out this week!

These scholarships are open to veterans, transitioning service members, members of the Guard and Reserve, and military spouses.

🚨 HUGE NEWS: Boots to Books has TWO scholarships opening today!

We are incredibly excited to continue helping members of the military-connected community access the education, training, and career resources they need to keep moving forward.

The two scholarships are....

1. Professional Upskilling Scholarship
This scholarship provides up to $1,000 toward one professional training or certification that aligns with the applicant’s career goals and is recognized by employers (in relevant job descriptions).

Funding is paid directly to the training provider, and our support does not stop there. Recipients will also receive resume and career support while completing their training.

2. Education Resource Scholarship
Education benefits do not always cover everything. When benefits are exhausted or unavailable, the cost of textbooks, course materials, or a laptop can become a serious obstacle.

Boots to Books has provided this assistance every semester since we started.

Applicants must be enrolled in a degree-granting program at 50% or more of the full-time credit load and demonstrate that other education benefits are unavailable, exhausted, or have fallen short.

Whether you are pursuing a graduate degree or just beginning your education journey, we want to help you keep going and nothing we do ever costs a cent.

We are officially 17 days out from our Careers in State and Local Government webinar, and we are excited to share that Matthew Langseth will be joining our other amazing speakers for this conversation!

State and local government careers are often overlooked, but they are a massive opportunity. Your professional summary is often the first place on a resume that a recruiter decides if you could be a fit for a role, so make it count.

Lead with the details that make you uniquely strong for the position, keep it clear and concise, and make the connection obvious from the first paragraph.

Check your resume against these dos and donts and see where you can improve. Also, is there anything you would add?

If you're a military-connected student pursuing a degree and your benefits are either being exceeded by textbook and resource (e.g. laptop) costs, or are unavailable, this is the opportunity for you.

Every semester since Boots to Books started over 5 years ago, we have shipped textbooks and higher ed resources directly to military-connected students in similar situations.

Last call for the June cohort!

Boots to Books is proud to offer free Google Career Certificate scholarships for members of the military community every month.

Before spending thousands on training or committing to a career path, this is a great way to explore fields like AI, cybersecurity, IT, project management, data analytics, digital marketing, and more while building real foundational skills.

It is also a great opportunity to simply stay current and build practical skills that can help you compete in today’s job market.

Each month, at least 10 individuals are selected to receive full access to Google Career Certificates at no cost, along with free career resources and support from the Boots to Books team throughout the process.

If you are trying to figure out your next move, expand your options, or build skills in a new area, this is a strong place to start. Please share this with someone in the military community who should take advantage of it!

This opportunity is completely free and open to transitioning service members, veterans, military spouses, members of the Guard and Reserve, and military family members.
