Boots to Books was created after service members were noticing a large divide between the current military transition programs and the college admissions process. B2B is committed to helping transitioning active duty, reserves, and national guard soldiers earn admission to competitive universities and get employed. B2B is volunteer based consisting of active duty soldiers, veterans, current colleg

e students and graduates across an array of industries; each with their own unique area of expertise. B2B is a completely free service for veterans.

Team Boots to Books wants to take a second to say a HUGE congratulations to our June Define Your Transition Scholarship recipients!

Each pictured recipient will have the full cost of one chosen licensure or certification covered, up to $1,000, and paid directly to the vendor. They will also receive career resources and ongoing support from the Boots to Books team as they train!

This group represents different branches, backgrounds, and connections to service, but every recipient showed clear research, commitment, and planning around how this training fits into their career goals.

To each of our recipients, congratulations! We are proud to play a small part in your journey, and we cannot wait to see you get started. Next steps should already be in your email.

For those who were not selected this round, please know this is not a reflection of you or your potential. Even after screening for industry-recognized certifications that align with career goals, we always have far more strong applicants than available spots.

Please reapply next quarter or to another one of our scholarships happening sooner. You will receive priority, and you should also check your email for a list of other free training and scholarship resources that may be able to support you right now. Do not let this slow you down.

Boots to Books is providing up to $1,000 in funding for an industry-recognized certification, licensure, or training program that aligns with your career goals and shows up in real job descriptions. Whether you’re pursuing a CompTIA certification, CFA, IT certifications, healthcare credentials, or something else entirely, we want to help you make that next move.

This scholarship is open to transitioning service members, veterans, military spouses, and members of the Guard and Reserve. There is never any cost for anything we do, and selected participants will also receive career resources and support from our team throughout their training journey.

That is exactly why we are bringing together a panel across different areas of state and local government to break it all down in a real, practical way on June 12th, virtually.

Each month, Boots to Books selects members of the military community to receive full access to Google Career Certificates at no cost, as well as career resources and ongoing support from our team.

These trainings provide great exposure to core skills in various industries, taught by Google volunteers, as well as a fantastic opportunity to get a taste of different roles while getting certified.

If you have been trying to figure out your next step after the military and feel like you are piecing it together as you go, you are not alone.

On April 3rd at 11am PST, the Boots to Books team is opening up Military Job Seeker Office Hours to walk through what actually works when it comes to landing your next role.

We are going to take a real resume and break it down live so you can see how to translate your experience in a way employers understand. We will also walk through how interview questions are evaluated on the other side and how to prepare so you can walk in with confidence instead of guessing.

This is meant to be interactive, so you will be able to ask your own questions and get direct answers from the team. We will also point you to free resources you can use immediately to keep building momentum after the session.

Whether you are just starting your transition or already applying and want some tips, this is a chance to get clarity and direction!

That is why the Boots to Books team is hosting Military Job Seeker Office Hours on April 3rd at 11am PST.

This session is built specifically for the military community and will focus on the things that actually move the needle in your job search.

• How to write a killer resume bullet
• How recruiters think about interview questions
• How to prepare so you walk into interviews confident
• Additional free resources available to support your transition

Big congratulations to our newest Boots to Books scholarship recipients!

This smaller cohort will be earning industry recognized technical certifications with hands-on support from the Boots to Books team as they continue their transition from military service into the next chapter of their careers.

Through this scholarship, recipients receive an exam voucher for a technical certification such as CompTIA, AWS, or ITIL, along with resume assistance and ongoing support from our team as they prepare to step into new opportunities.

While many of our scholarships run as much larger quarterly cohorts, we also move quickly when we see motivated candidates who are ready to take the next step. When that happens, we make it happen.

This group represents exactly what we love to see. Service members who are investing in themselves, building new technical skills, and preparing for the opportunities ahead.

We are excited to support this technical cohort and cannot wait to see where their certifications and careers take them.
