As ballots have started to hit mailboxes, we're sharing REP-SF's positions on the local ballot measures for the June 2 Election! We’re voting NO on Prop C and YES on Prop D to make corporations pay their fair share!

Vote NO on Prop C to Reject Decreases to Business Taxes.
Prop C is Supported & Funded by Billionaires & Tech CEOs!
This proposition is on the ballot to be a poison pill for Prop D, the Overpaid CEO Tax. If Prop C passes, we could LOSE $30–40 million per year!

Vote YES on Prop D to Increase Business Taxes.
Prop D Makes Large Corporations Pay Their Fair Share. Prop D Does NOT Increase Taxes for Small Businesses.
If this proposition passes, we could RAISE $250–300 million per year!

Companies benefiting most from San Francisco’s economy should contribute more to the public good, supporting services and housing investments that make the city more livable for everyone. For renters, it is a matter of fairness: When inequality drives displacement and instability, asking the wealthiest corporate leaders to pay more is essential to invest in the communities their businesses rely on.

BIG BUSINESSES SHOULD PAY THEIR FAIR SHARE! VOTE NO ON C AND YES ON D.

Stop the Tax Giveaway! Protect Affordable Housing Funds!

In February, Mayor Daniel Lurie & Supervisor Bilal Mahmood announced a tax cut for wealthy real estate investors. As rents climb higher than ever and more than 17,000 affordable housing units languish in the pipeline due to lack of funding, they have proposed a repeal of Prop I.

Since San Francisco voters passed Prop I in 2020, it has delivered more than $200 million for affordable housing, rent relief, and building preservation with real results. These funds have kept families housed, protected our communities, and supported new affordable housing opportunities.

Join REP-SF and our allied coalition San Francisco Anti-Displacement Coalition in taking action: Send a letter to the Board of Supervisors telling them to reject this proposal to cut taxes on the richest corporate real estate owners at the expense of working San Franciscans. Share this letter-writing campaign with your community!

Supervisor Chyanne Chen warns that the City risks falling short of its state mandate to build nearly 47,000 affordable homes by 2031.

An article in San Francisco Business Times reports on Supervisor Chen’s letter to the San Francisco Planning Commission about the Affordable Housing Circuit Breaker – Housing Element Action 8.1.10. This action, which took effect on Jan. 31, 2026, requires the City to increase funding and pursue additional sites when affordable housing goals are not met.

REP-SF appreciates Supervisor Chyanne Chen's leadership on this issue, and we support her demands for the City to comply with the Housing Element and meet the needs of our communities. Public investment in truly affordable and dignified housing is essential to creating and sustaining stable and inclusive communities.

The City is not developing the affordable housing we were promised – and has no plan to build the 47,000 affordable homes mandated in the current Housing Element. We urge the City to increase local funding and pursue additional state funding for affordable housing and to pursue additional land banking strategies for affordable housing.

Supervisor Chen’s letter states that the Housing Element includes over 216 policies aimed at advancing equity and increasing public investment in affordable housing. Sup. Chen said, “I am disappointed to see that implementation of these equity-oriented policy actions has been incomplete, opaque and often delayed.” We also urge the City to implement these equity-based provisions that are critical and overdue.

In an op-ed for 48 Hills, community architect, artist, and affordable housing advocate Fernando Martí discusses the dangerous fantasy of upzoning.

Martí explains that Mayor Lurie’s “Family Zoning Plan” is “politicians pretending to be doing something, because the real things they should be focusing on — interest rates, costs, and financing, they either can’t impact (interest rates), don’t want to (costs), or it’s too hard (financing).”

Fernando Martí discusses what a real FAMILY zoning plan would do to encourage development, including excluding all rent-controlled buildings; creating real family-sized units; and land banking sites for truly affordable housing and social housing.

Thank you, Amber Lee, for reporting on the Small Schools Coalition’s rally and mobilization for public comment at the Board of Education last week. Students, parents, educators, and community members shared powerful testimonies against proposed school closures, urging the Board to reject the misleading “Strong Schools” Resolution, budget cuts, and staffing model.
