Meet Norma Reyes, Chairperson of the San Elizario Veterans Committee
Norma Reyes is the daughter of Timio and Grace Reyes and proud mother to her daughter, Aleisha Reyes. A graduate of Montwood High School and UTEP, she earned her degree in Special Education and has remained dedicated to leadership, service, and community involvement throughout her life.
Since high school and throughout her adult career, Norma has held numerous leadership roles in organizations and clubs centered around service, teamwork, and community engagement. She currently serves as Co-Chair for the Military Veterans Network at her company, where she works for a major banking and brokerage firm that strongly emphasizes community outreach and volunteerism.
In addition to her professional career, Norma is a small business owner, active community volunteer, and devoted member of her local church. She has a deep passion for serving others and giving back to the community whenever possible.
Norma is especially proud of her roots in San Elizario. Growing up between East El Paso and weekends spent in San Elizario, she describes herself as having experienced “the best of both worlds.” Her time in San Eli instilled in her an appreciation for family, tradition, hard work, and community values that continue to shape her leadership today.
She is also deeply proud of the military and veteran legacy within her family. Her father, both grandfathers, uncles, cousins, and many close family friends have all proudly served in the United States military. Their sacrifice, service, and love for country have inspired Norma’s passion for honoring veterans and preserving their stories for future generations. She hopes to continue that proud family tradition one day through her daughter, Aleisha.
Outside of work and volunteer efforts, Norma enjoys spending her free time riding her motorcycle and creating meaningful connections within the community she loves so deeply.
As Chairperson of the San Elizario Veterans Committee, Norma is excited about the future of the committee and the opportunities for continued growth, collaboration, and service to veterans and the San Elizario community.
