California, Inc is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. CA is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization established in 2000 and staffed entirely by volunteers. We continue our mission as a non profit whose purpose is to rescue stray, abandoned, relinquished and/ or impounded Afghan Hounds. Veterinary care is provided prior to adoption according to the dog’s needs, always including spaying, neutering

and dental. To date, AHRSC has rescued and placed over 500 Afghan Hounds and is dedicated to continuing rescue and rehabilitation of this Breed and have them adopted into permanent loving homes. Without your generous contributions and help, this rescue organization would not exist. We rely on donations to cover these medical expenses, food, and other costs for our rescues who are waiting for their forever homes. Thank you from all of us at AHRSC for those who have continued to donate and support us get so many rescues wonderful new, forever homes filled with love. UPDATE ON TALA! She has been turned over to Greyhound Friends For Life for placement. If you were one of the interested parties for her, please contact them at: https://www.greyhoundfriendsforlife.org/

We were happy to be part of her new life, to get her out of the desert and on to where she needs to be for placement. Ms. Tala still needs to be spayed before placement.

The results are in for Ms. Tala. Sounds pretty accurate. Thank you so much Donna Wanser for purchasing the Wisdom Panel for this pretty girl.

Meet Theo. We just picked him up today. He is 8.5 months old. Rode like a champ in the car and gets along with everyone. He is beautiful. He is available. Please fill out the application of you are interested.

Theo does not have a lot of training at 8.5 months, so please, if you are intersted in this beautiful boy, know that he could be a wonderful dog with someone who could spend some training time with him. It would be so beneficial for this gorgeous boy.

Update: No microchip.

We’ve given this girl a name - Tala- which means ‘Red wolf’ we thought that was fitting. She had a clip down and a much needed bath. She was so good for both. Great with all the dogs here. And tomorrow she gets vaccines and checked for a microchip. She is a good one.

While we are on the subject of hounds that aren’t afghans, this adorable girl will be available for adoption after her dental on Tuesday. Nine year old Shia is a silken windhound. She is the sweetest girl and so very quiet. She just wants to be near her human. Gets along with all other dogs and lived with cats. She is really something 💕

Just picked this pretty girl up in the high desert. She’d been on the run for five weeks. A very nice lady had been feeding her and giving her water. What breed(s) do you think she is? I think possible deerhound mix. She is sweet and rides well in the car.
