FACE Foundation FACE assists San Diego pet owners who cannot afford the entire cost of their pet's treatment

Established in 2006, The Foundation for Animal Care and Education (FACE) is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) public charity, whose mission is to enhance and preserve the quality of life of companion animals by providing access to necessary medical care and education.

Thank you to Drew Schlosberg, host of The Nation’s Longest Running Community Podcast and the Cloudcast Media team for welcoming FACE Executive Director Kerstin Lynam, Jordyn, and her dog Dexter to the show!

No family should have to say goodbye to a beloved pet simply because they can’t afford lifesaving care. 💛🐾

At FACE, we hear from families facing that heartbreaking possibility, the fear of losing their best friend, their child’s constant companion, or the pet who has carried them through their hardest days.

Support from Escondido Community Foundation helps us give those families somewhere to turn. It means a chance for a pet to come home. More walks together. More bedtime snuggles. More time with someone they love.

We’re deeply grateful to Escondido Community Foundation, an affiliate of San Diego Foundation - for recognizing FACE among seven nonprofits at its Grants Celebration and supporting our mission to save pets and keep families together.

🚨 A routine morning potty break turned into an emergency when Penny was attacked by a coyote. 💔

At 13 years old, Penny should be spending her days feeling safe and loved. Instead, she needed urgent care to repair her wounds and place drains after the attack. For her mom, a single mother supporting her son, the fear of losing her beloved girl was compounded by a veterinary bill she couldn’t afford on her own.

FACE pledged $2,700 toward Penny’s lifesaving care, and you can help. 🐾

This year, giving means even more as FACE celebrates 20 years of saving pets and helping families stay together. 🐾

Over the past two decades, our community has helped us save more than 5,000 lives 💛 5,000 beloved pets who were able to receive the critical veterinary care they needed when their families had nowhere else to turn.

Today, we’re asking you to help us continue that legacy.

Lotus was only 4 months old when his family adopted him from a shelter, excited to give their sweet, playful puppy a loving home. 🐾

Just a few months later, everything changed.

While playing with his best canine, Lotus accidentally fell from a second-story balcony, suffering a severe fracture to his right femur that required urgent surgery.

His family was heartbroken. With only one parent currently working, the cost of the surgery was simply more than they could afford.

That’s where FACE came in. 💛

With support from FACE and compassionate donors like you, Lotus can get the care he needs to heal and get back to what puppies do best, playing, growing, and enjoying life with the family who loves him.
