In UDW’s latest act of bad faith bargaining, they have issued us a regressive Last, Best, Final Officer with BRAND NEW, never seen before proposals! You know who doesn’t like that? PNWSU and the NLRB!

Not only are they standing by their horrendous LBFO, they are demanding we provide them counter proposal language. Sounds like someone doesn’t know what a Last, Best, and Final actually means!

We will not tolerate such a blatant attack on our union and have already filed an Unfair Labor Practice. Their attempts to erase us will NOT be successful.

Half of the bargaining unit took action and joined a call with our Employer’s Executives to make our voices heard, express how their unilateral changes are harming us, and talk about how we won’t accept their bad faith contract proposals.

Management refused to meet with us and ran away with their tails between their legs.

We will keep taking action until we have a contract that protects Pacific Northwest Staff Union members and creates a better workplace for us all.

Management doesn’t want you to be informed about your union: they are destroying staff union materials in the Riverside office!

The NLRA is very clear: we are allowed to post union materials in common areas like break rooms. We will be taking action to protect our rights! ✊🏼

Give it up for month SEVEN on trying to bargain a new contract with our employer! Every single one of their proposals is regressive, takes away our rights, and tries to effectively ELIMINATE our staff union! We’ve decided to update UDW’s slogan to a more accurate version! Outwardly, UDW fights for the rights of workers but internally, they treat their staff with almost no respect. And they want room to treat people even worse! Their three most insane bargaining proposals are:

1 - Our just cause protections? Management would love to circumvent those! They want sole discretion to skip a disciplinary step (or multiple) for any reason, whenever they want, leaving us virtually no way to truly protect our unit. Yikes!

2 - You signed on to work a full time job right? Surprise! Management wants the ability to make you part time, with no notice, and for as long as they want, for any reason. No thanks, we prefer job security.

3 - The scope of work we fight hard to protect? If management had their way, you wouldn’t have that either! They want to essentially eliminate reasonable scope of work to force employees to perform whatever tasks management wants. They’re currently attempting AGAIN to ignore scope of work right now!

This is why it is so important to be unionized, even when you work for a union! The boss is the boss, no matter where you are.
