Back to School with Hope!

At Aliyah Orphanage, we believe education is the key to a brighter tomorrow. As schools reopen across Togo, our children are stepping into their classrooms with brand new school bags filled not just with books and supplies, but with confidence and hope for the future.

Our mission has always been more than providing care, we aim to instill education by ensuring every child has the tools and support to succeed academically. With access to schools, tutoring, and resources, along with opportunities to explore art, music, and sports, we are committed to nurturing well-rounded, passionate learners. These school bags symbolize more than preparation for classes—they represent opportunities, dreams, and the promise of a brighter tomorrow.

Many of our children came from places where they had to sleep with one eye open. Some hid under beds. Others lived in fear of violence. At Aliyah, we replace fear with safety, secure shelter, clean clothes, health care, and a caring adult always nearby.

Sick children can’t learn, play or feel safe. That’s why health care is a top priority at Aliyah Orphanage. We offer vaccinations, doctor visits, mental health check-ins, and even teach basic hygiene. From malaria prevention to counseling for trauma, we do everything to protect the full well-being of every child.

Children need more than schoolbooks, they need joy, teamwork, movement and celebration. That’s why at Aliyah, we offer sports, dance, and hands on creative workshops. It’s amazing how kicking a ball, making a bracelet, or performing a play can restore confidence and energy.

- Nurturing Love-
Love at Aliyah means sitting with a crying child at 2AM. It means celebrating their smallest wins like learning to tie their shoes or sleep through the night without fear. Many of our children have come from places where they were never hugged, listened to, or told “you matter.” So here, we wrap them in love, not just in words, but in every action.

Our team of caregivers and volunteers are more than staff, they are family. And when these children begin to laugh again, it’s because someone chose to love them without judgment. Help us continue being that safe place for healing hearts.
