As first-generation Filipino Americans born and raised in the United States, we knew very little about our cultural heritage. Luckily for us, we met in junior college through Pagkakaisa, a FIL-AM student organization. Together, we discovered more about our culture and how influential we are as the fastest-growing Asian American group. Root 54 is a play off of Route 54 dubbed the "Filipino American

Highway" in San Diego. Our mission as a giving circle is to strengthen nonprofit organizations that help unify and empower the FIL AM community through cultural awareness, civic engagement, and philanthropic activities. Our hope is to serve as a model and catalyst for positive change.

On Sunday, March 1st Root 54 will award 4 organizations at our 2nd grantee celebration. If you would like to come meet our grantees please message us.
The 4 well deserving groups are: KAMP SD (Kuya Ate Mentorship Program), Kalusugan Community Services, COPAO - CEPA NET Civic Engagement Project and Emerging Leaders Institute.
