This day is not only affecting the Vietnamese community, and also our Lao brothers & sisters. We are connected in this struggle against imperialism that tore our communities, our families apart. We can reflect, learn from the history & look forward into our future. We can heal as a community. A war has disrupted our lives, and we need to disrupt its trauma.

Announcing the secreted artists for the 2026 AAPI Emerging Artist Fellowship — Armaan Mumtaz Kelsey Boncato Lucy Mu Li and X

This year, we transform the classification of the “emerging” artist into the submerging. Submerging into our oceans, our sleeping dreams, our grief and decolonial work as technologies for reclaiming the erotic — the aliveness experienced beyond the human flesh. As artists, organizers, and activists, our tri-pronged multiplicity will continue to resist the de-funding of arts in San Diego. We are the culture preservers and makers, and our art is needed.

Our fellows will work alongside artist-curator and our visiting artist-facilitators: for a culminating group show in July 2026 on Kumeyaay land.

Big hugs to our sponsors and collaborators for inspiring this fellowship continue 🫂

The Shaman-Artist mirror effect with

Artists wander, harvesting visions in other realms. They share their fruits and truths with us. What is a home but not the karma, conflict, and repair that forms from learning to be together, again and again?

Seb is the Creative Director of “Dwelling: Collective Dreams of Earth/Site/Energy/Shelter/Sky/Person”, a six person co-hort creating a home together through watercolor.

Re-mything as World building with

Jon connects Bixi, the turtle god of East Asia, to the creation tales of Turtle Island as a way of cultivating joy while living in a world in transition. How does technology and indigeneity interconnect? How do our prayers amplify through art, especially while including our friends as collaborators?
