๐ŸŽ๏ธ 2026 MICHIGAN COMPETITION RECAP

Thatโ€™s it. The 2025-2026 Formula SAE EV Season is over and competition was a great way to finish it out. Before competition officially started, our team headed out to Detroit to be able to test our vehicleโ€™s aerodynamics at Fordโ€™s Wind Tunnel facilities. This experience allowed us to gather data that we would not be able to get any other way and is invaluable to the development of future iterations of the AER car.

Moving into competition, we worked through quite a few challenges such asโ€ฆ

๐ŸŒŸ Change in weather conditions (wet paddock)
๐ŸŒŸ Sheltering in place due to storms
๐ŸŒŸ Hours spent in hot work

We were able to pass Tractive Battery Tech, a first in AER history. While we werenโ€™t able to continue to EV Tech, we hope that what we learned from this year will help us reach EV Tech next year and Dynamic Events.

Accomplishments didnโ€™t just stop there, we scored the highest total points for both Design Event and Cost Event in AER history, a true showcase of the hard work from all of our subteams. We aim to continue growing and working hard to be able to fully compete at competition not only for next year, but future years as well.

Go Aztecs!

With a break from the Michigan storms, we went through re-inspections and driver egress. Our electrical team continued to work hard on our accumulator. But the main event of the day, Design. Our leads presented their systems to the judges explaining the parts of AER 26.

To end it off, we passed our first technical inspection: Mechanical!!

๐ŸŽ๏ธ MICHIGAN DAY 2 RECAP

More progress was made, we went through inspections and learned from judges on what needed to be fixed. We continued on our electronics including accumulator to be ready for Tractive Battery Tech. After lots of rain throughout the day, we ended with Cost Event, where our business team presented their Cost Scenario. Onto Day 3 โžก๏ธ
