I had to share this poem one of my veteran writers just sent me:
Ben Robinson - Nubile(s)
I love this word because
It’s only used by dirty old uncles.
I’ve never heard it used by a woman,
something too upsetting about it.
I’ve never heard a child say it, too niche.
The married uncles never say it,
never saw it plastered on the strip club walls.
The only ones to ever say it are the uncles
nobody asks to babysit. Isn’t it funny how
two simple syllables can make our skin crawl?
Supple.
