Friends of Jefferson Elementary FoJ is a group dedicated to the growth of Jefferson Elementary, our kids, & community in North Park

Friends of Jefferson Elementary currently has the following goals:
- Increase community awareness and support for Jefferson Elementary
- Encourage attendance by neighborhood children
- Operate as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation to fund enrichment programs, support the curriculum, and enhance extracurricular activities
- Increase parent involvement at Jefferson Elementary

Sharing a fun upcoming event at Roosevelt Middle School—their International Baccalaureate Exposition on Thursday, 4/16 from 4:30–7:00 PM.

This is a really great opportunity—especially for 5th grade families—to check out Roosevelt, explore the campus, and get a feel for the programs and student experience.

There will be student showcases across campus including media arts, film screenings, animation, digital music, visual art, design, industry projects, and more.

Plus live student performances featuring Roosevelt Young Lions, Velvet Roses After-School Rock Band, Guitar Club, Into the Woods Musical Theater, and more!

Tacos will be available for purchase! All proceeds support student programming at Roosevelt.

All are welcome—bring the whole family! It’s completely FREE to attend. We'd love to see lots of Jefferson families there!

This year’s dance features a DJ playing all those kid-friendly favorites, a crafting table, dance competitions, concessions, and of course - the much anticipated balloon drop to end the night. 🍿See you tomorrow night on the Joint Use Field for a double feature Movie Night under the stars! This fun school wide event is one of the rewards earned from meeting our fundraising and participation goals in the Jog-a-thon! Congrats to Ms. Archer’s and Ms. Dunham’s class for earning the opportunity to select our movies.

Know Before You Go:
🎬 Free Mr. Moto’s Pizza
🎬 Popcorn & Candy available from 5th Grade committee
🎬 Bring blankets and chairs for seating - and warm layers!
🎬 “Doors” open at 5pm, with Zootopia beginning at 5:30pm and followed by Yes Day around 7:30pm

Thank you to everyone who submitted a pet pic or voted in our inaugural Pets of Jefferson Calendar!

Most of the monthly races were very close — in many cases just a handful of votes determined our 12 featured pets.

But we couldn’t bear to leave anyone out, so EVERY submission will appear on the front and back cover collage. ❤️🐾

Pre-orders are open now!
Calendars are $15 for a limited time and pre-ordering is the only way to guarantee a copy. A small number will be available for $20 once printing is complete.

Thanks to everyone who submitted photos — your pets are unbelievably cute! Now it’s time to vote for which ones will star in the 2026 calendar.

🐾Voting is open now through Monday, December 2nd at 5 PM


🐾 One ballot per student or staff member

🐾 Families with multiple students can vote once per child

Submissions are open now through November 14th for the 2026 Pets of Jefferson Calendar!

The community will vote to decide which photos are featured for each month — all submissions may appear in the cover collage. Calendars will be available to preorder and delivered in December.
