Our Story
A little about our WHY in creating the foundation. Marlow Sr., may he rest in peace, has a long tradition of thinking of others. From the time he was 14yrs old, he was the backbone in preserving his family. At a young age he chose to accept a fatherly role and ensure his family's stability and progress. He then enlisted in the Army and was sent to war in Vietnam. He was abruptly called home to find out his brother had been killed in a car accident. The impact on the family and his single mother was devastating. Once again, Marlow Sr. immediately stepped into the fatherly role ensuring his mom and his siblings and immediate family were taken care of. During his teenage years he stepped in to the role of big brother, provider, and Dad. He has always been big on keeping his entire family close together and always had a heart of gold. It was his theme in life. With the formation of the Marlow B. Martinez Foundation, we strive to exemplify what it means to have a "Heart of Gold" and to give for the right reasons. AT MBM , if thereâs a need or a burden and we can do something about it, we will. Marlow Jr estimates anywhere from 100-150 hours a year for free and without any compensation. His eyes have been opened on how much need there is not only to ease burdens for youth in our community, but to let people know, that we care. If asked, heâll probably give the credit to those that support MBM, as he considers himself extremely lucky and knows that without support, MBM does not exist. He hopes to continue to earn the support of the community , and continue to ease burdens whenever he can as this is what he believes a community should be, together...... âNo Smile Left Behindâ, not on MBMâs watch. #TakeCareof1Another #NoSmileLeftBehind #AlwaysCare #CreateADifference #MBMTribe #MBMLegacy
