It’s with great sadness that I inform you that His Majesty King Harald V is dead.

He was a strong unifying force for all Norwegians across the globe. One who everyone called their Bestefar.

He was with us in glede og sorg (happiness and sorrow), through July 22 and other natural catastrophes.

He was a excellent athlete, three times in the Olympics and five times in the World Cup, as a sailor.
He was what Norwegians called a Sportsidiot.
He was also an avid fisherman and hunter.
Boy, did he enjoy the World Cup in soccer this summer!

His motto was Alt for Norge.

We thank him with all of our hearts.🙏🏻

Long live His Majesty King Haakon VIII.

One of our fantastic members, James Jerpseth, recommended an Ethiopian Restaurant named Read Sea on University Ave., so Anne-Lise (native Norwegian) and I went there for a delicious lunch (which it was)! The thing that I thought was extraordinary was that the owner, Shimi (native Ethiopian) and Anne-Lise had a full on conversation in Spanish! Remarkable San Diego!

A huge thank you to all our House of Norway members, families, fellow Norwegians, friends and all guests who joined us to celebrate Norway’s Constitution Day together in Balboa Park, San Diego 🌭🎶🇳🇴

From pølser and smiles to flags waving and laughter across the park, it was a wonderful day filled with community, tradition, and Norwegian spirit ❤️🤍💙

Tusen takk to everyone who came out, helped, celebrated, and made the day so special- It was an absolute blast and it was incredible to see the park filled all the Norwegian joy 🇳🇴✨ Hipp Hipp, Hurra Hurra Hurra!
