Just A Reminder To All The Beachgoers, I Know Finding Sand Dollars Are Fun - But Please Be Cautious On Whether You’re Picking Up/Taking Home Live Sand Dollars Or One That’s Just The Skeletal Remains Of One That’s Already Passed.

You Can See The Top 2 Videos Are Of A Live Sand Dollar. It Has A Countless Number Of Hairs/Spines Covering It’s Top & Bottom (You Can See Them Moving In The Top Videos). They Use These Hairs/Spines To Move Around & Burrow In The Sand. The Bottom Pictures Are Of A Sand Dollar Who Has Already Passed & The Hairs Have Fallen Off, Leaving Only Their Lovely Endoskeletons Behind For Us To Admire 🖤💀

Fun Facts: Sand Dollars Are Echinoderms (Spiny Skin) & Are Relates To Sea Urchins & Sea Stars. They Eat Tiny Particles That Float By In The Water Column & Are Eaten By Sea Stars ⭐️ Sea Snails 🐌 & Skates 🤙🏼 In Other Parts Of The World, They Are Also Sometimes Called “Sea Biscuits” or “Sand Cakes” 🌏🎂💜

So Again, Please Be Cautious When Finding These At Our Beaches & Be Sure Not To Take The Live Ones Home With You, As They Will Just Slowly Die As They Dry Out. Try To Safely Enjoy Them & Their Beauty In Their Own Natural Habitat 🤗🤙🏼
