I have a very good friend who inspired me to create the Filipino-Mexican Friendship Society, I don't know where he is right now. But this I know, he will never forget me as a friend. God bless him and keep him in good health!

I was in Mexico City some years ago as the World Secretary of the World Federation of Methodist Women. I was awed by the warm hospitality and friendship extended to me by so many women with hearts of gold. Beautiful women concerned with social justice issues and taking to heart and acting on what God wants us to do: to do justice, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with God.

I met 2 awesome women today, Estela delos Rios, Executive Director of Center for Social Advocacy and Marisa Ugarte, Executive Diector of Bilateral Safety Corridor Coalition. I've known Estela for the past 8 years as a woman of strength, passionate on human rights issues, and a pillar in her advocacy for immigration reform, affordable housing, access to health and human services. I met Marisa for the first time this afternoon. after a brief conversation, it seems that we've known each other for a long time. We have a common vision in helping the less fortunate women who are victims of humaan trafficking. Visit her Thrift Shop - The Journey at 241 National City Blvd. I'll be organizing a Women's Forum to discuss issues affecting women on July 12, 2012 an officially launch the Filipino and Mexican Friendship Society.
