We are once again hosting a FREE Intro to Science Fair bootcamp with GSDSEF! It is designed for those interested in participating in the 2027 Greater San Diego Engineering and Science Fair!

In this series of 4 workshops, students will plan, strategize, create, present, and reflect on a science or engineering project of their choice! Throughout the sessions, they will receive feedback on their successes and ways to improve from seasoned GSDSEF volunteers!

Details:
- Designed for students in grades 6-10.
- At Francis Parker School in San Diego, California.
- Dates: Wednesdays September 2 and 9 and Saturdays September 5 and 12
- Time: 4:00 - 6:00 PM (Wednesdays) and 10 AM - 12:00 PM (Saturdays)
- This program, as always, is completely free of charge and open to all!

It’s almost time for another series of Maker Space workshops, this time at Allied Gardens/Benjamin Library!

In this FREE 6-session course, elementary-aged students will learn engineering fundamentals and apply these to projects! They will get the chance to build a variety of structures, such as bridges, cranes, and towers, and test them, too!

Key Details:
- Designed for students in grades 2-4.
- At Allied Gardens/Benjamin Library in San Diego, California.
- Time: 4:15-5:30 PM
- Dates: September 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, and October 7 (all Wednesdays)
- No prior experience is needed!
- This program, as always, is completely free of charge and open to all!

Project NexTech is hosting another series of [1.1] Maker Space Workshops, this time at Linda Vista Library!

In this FREE 6-week series, elementary-aged students will learn engineering fundamentals such as tension and force and apply these to projects! They will get the chance to build a variety of structures, such as bridges, cranes, and towers, and test them, too!

Key Details:
- Designed for students in grades 2-4.
- At Linda Vista Library in central San Diego, California.
- Time: 2:00-3:30 PM. *The last two programs (October 24 and November 14) are from 3:00 - 4:30 PM.
- Dates: Saturdays August 29, September 5, September 12, October 10, October 24, November 14
- No prior experience is needed!
- This program, as always, is completely free of charge and open to all!

This four-week FREE engineering workshop will cover topics such as the strongest shapes, force, motion, tension, and more! These subjects will be demonstrated and tested with endless hands-on activities where students get the chance to design, build, and test their unique ideas!

Details:
- Designed for students in grades 2-4.
- At the 4S Ranch Branch Library in northern San Diego, California.
- Time: 4:30-6:00 PM
- Dates: Thursdays, August 13, 20, 27, and September 3.
- No experience is needed!
- All necessary materials will be provided free of charge.

The first day of our new program, [5.4] Natural Sciences Workshops was a success! Students discovered the concept of osmosis using potatoes as a way to visualize it! They also practiced dissecting flowers to learn about why each specific part is necessary.

Free San Diego event coming up! ⭐️

Our brand-new course, Natural Sciences Workshops, debuts next week! Students will get a sample of each of our Natural Sciences courses (Biology, Chemistry, and Earth Sciences) throughout a 6-week series!

This course is filled with a variety of hands-on activities relating to each unique topic, designed for elementary-aged students (see below). Some activities include flower dissection, DIY hand sanitizer, and slime!

Quick details:
- Designed for kids (going into) grades 3-5.
- at San Ysidro Library in southern San Diego, California.
- Time: 4:30 - 6:30 PM
- Dates: July 20 and 27, August 4 and 25, September 21 and 28
