Project NexTech will be hosting a series of Intro to Artificial Intelligence classes in partnership with Saikat San Diego starting soon!

Through a series of 6 2-hour classes, students will discover a variety of topics, including machine learning topics, linear regression, computer vision, and more, along with an introduction to Python programming. These subjects will be taught with a variety of hands-on projects and practice exercises for students to try out!

Grades: 5-9
Location: Francis Parker School, San Diego (see details in image)
Time: 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM
Dates: June 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, 21

Project NexTech is hosting a one-time Intro to Earth Sciences class this week in San Diego! With hands-on, interactive activities, students will learn a variety of Earth Sciences topics like:
- the rock cycle
- pollution
- natural selection
- ecosystems
- the Earth’s formation

Students will learn how to make basic 3D models through computer-aided design using the beginner-friendly software TinkerCAD! They will have creative freedom with a variety of fun projects designed to help their skills grow!

- Each class will take place on Mondays from April 6th - April 20th at 5-7 PM
- It will take place at San Ysidro Library in southern San Diego, California.
- This is an entry-level class! No prior experience is necessary.

As the second subject in our 10-week series with Scripps Miramar Ranch Library, our Intro to Programming with Scratch program will be starting soon!

This is an introductory-level programming course, so no experience is required. Scratch was designed as a simple-to-use platform with visual, rather than only written, code. Students will use block coding to command sprites, understand if-then variables, and more! They can also combine techniques learned to create games and other interesting scenes!🧑‍💻

Details:
This course is best-suited for grades 3-5, though all students in grades 1-8 are welcome to sign up as well!
Fridays 4/3, 4/10, 4/17, and 4/24, each from 4:15 - 5:30 PM.
At Scripps Miramar Ranch Library in San Diego, California.
Students do NOT need to have attended the previous Maker Space Workshop to join!

Project NexTech and Pacific Beach/Taylor Library are hosting an Intro to Algebra and Geometry workshop, and it is one week only!

Details:
Students will learn about algebraic variables and geometric principles in an interactive format. For example, they will use a fun story to solve linear expressions! ✖️➗➕➖🟰

This is best suited for grades 3-7. Students should already be familiar with addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division before attending this course, though there will be a brief review.
