Fordham University students came to Kenya with MCV for spring break and left with memories, friendships, and experiences that will last a lifetime.

What began as a service-learning journey became something much deeper โ€” a beautiful cultural exchange filled with joy and shared purpose with the Maasai community in Amboseli.

The students stayed at the Maasai Heritage Center, embraced daily Maasai life, and helped launch a new Maasai medicinal garden alongside the community. In the process, friendships were formed, stories were shared, and seeds were planted that will continue to grow for years to come.

Thank you, Fordham University for making this transformative experience possible. We are so grateful to the students for coming with open hearts and for being part of an experience that created a lasting connection between the Maasai community and Fordham.

We cannot wait to share more of the impact Fordham students and the Maasai created together.

This holiday season, our hearts are overflowing with gratitude and joy! MCV successfully delivered a 40-foot container filled with gifts to the Maasai community in Amboseli, Kenya โ€” Spreading love and hope during this season of giving.

We celebrated the distribution of bicycles, shoes, and tech equipment โ€” Essential items that strengthen education and uplift lives. Each gift carried an inspiring story!

Seeing the childrenโ€™s eyes light up with excitement reminded us that true impact isnโ€™t measured by the size of the donation, but by the hearts it touches and the futures it inspires.

To our generous donors and corporate sponsors in California who filled this container with love , Thank you for making a difference through your generosity! Your kindness is spreading hope and giving new opportunities throughout the Maasai community .

In Amboseli, Kenya history was rewritten! In a landmark moment for land justice and Indigenous-led conservation, Amboseli National Park has been officially returned to Maasai local ownership through Kajiado County.

After 51 years of a generational push for justice, the Maasai have finally regained stewardship of their ancestral land; a sacred land they lived on and protected long before Amboseli became a national park in 1974.

Since 2018, My Chosen Vessels (MCV) has advocated at the United Nations for Amboseli to be returned to the Maasai. We are honored to have stood alongside Maasai community leaders, government partners & cultural chiefs throughout this important journey.

This milestone will now allow the Maasai community to directly benefit from tourism revenue while continuing to protect the ecological integrity & wildlife of one of the worldโ€™s most iconic landscapes.

Amboseli lies at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, where MCVโ€™s Maasai Heritage Center is located โ€” home to legendary elephant herds and the rich cultural heritage of the Maasai. Returning the park management ensures a future where wildlife, culture, and community live together for generations to come.

The President of Kenya, William Ruto signed the Deed of Transfer at the 3rd Annual Maa Cultural Festival & proudly stated what we have always known: โ€œThe Maa community are the greatest conservationists! I have no doubt that Amboseli will be better than what it used to be.โ€

This victory proves what is possible through unity, shared vision & persistent advocacy for Indigenous land rights.
