We are still on cloud nine from the 5th Annual Transportation Justice Expo 🥰💭

For the fifth consecutive year, the Urban Collaborative Project brought together our region's communities, organizations, advocates, and leaders around a shared vision for equitable, people-centered transportation. What started as a neighborhood event born from the voices of young people demanding safer streets has grown into one of the most vibrant cross-regional gatherings in San Diego. 🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒🚊💌

To every sponsor, exhibitor, partner, volunteer, elected official, and community member who showed up, thank you. This event is yours as much as it is ours.
We cannot wait to bring it back next spring. Year 6 is already on our minds. 🙏

This event is supported by the California Strategic Growth Council's Transformative Climate Communities Program in partnership with the California Department of Conservation.

Freeways divided us. Infrastructure displaced us. Culture was criminalized. 🛣️ This Saturday, community is coming together to tell stories of resistance and reclamation. The Histories of Transportation Justice in San Diego Exhibit brings together the Chicano Park Museum & Cultural Center, Mundo Gardens, Vision Culture Foundation, City Heights CDC, and the San Diego History Center to bring these stories to life. All this, in one place, for one day only.
Come learn about the organizing for Chicano Park. The 40-year organizing battle along SR-15. The movement that lifted the lowrider ban statewide. The reclamation of 57 acres into Maat Mataayum, “Where the People Come Together.”
These aren’t just history lessons. They’re instructions.
