The Ahpha Group We rehabilitate and find homes for the "throwaways" that would otherwise die mercilessly outdoors. San Diego based, run only by volunteers.

What we do:
Give a chance to the "throwaways" that would otherwise die mercilessly outdoors from starvation, disease, and abuse — or as food for a predator, and would be turned down or even euthanized by other organizations because considered un-adoptable. Our kittens are found outdoors fending for themselves, they were abandoned or are the off springs of feral cats. We focus on the most needy an

d do not take in people surrender. Where do our cats come from? Many of our animals had a rough start to life. Our cats started their lives as feral cat. A feral cat is a descendant of a domesticated cat that has returned to the wild. It is distinguished from a stray cat, which is a pet cat that has been lost or abandoned, while feral cats are born in the wild. They come from harsh situations, so they do need extra veterinary care. But also do need extra TLC : they come as hissy “want to be” little lions and with love and dedication they are turned into sweet and playful little kittens

Our AHPHA kittens are true “rags to riches” stories, and become the most loving and grateful pets.

If you’re feeling isolated, worried, or alone, now is a wonderful time to reach out to your local shelter and start fostering. Foster a litter of kittens. Foster an adult cat. Foster a senior dog. Foster a mama bunny and her babies. Foster a bonded pair of guinea pigs. With many shelters having to close their doors, it’s never been more important to open our homes to animals in need.
