✨Make my life a little light
Within the world to glow
A little flame that burneth bright
Wherever I may go ✨
As the days shorten and grow darker, our TK - 2nd grade families gather for their annual Lantern Walks, a favorite Waldorf tradition. Slowly walking with handmade lanterns, they sing songs about light as their little lights guide their steps together.
Inspired by the story of St. Martin, a Roman soldier known for his act of compassion when he famously cut his cloak in half to share with a beggar on a cold night.
It’s a beautiful (and needed) pause and reminder to tend to the light within us and let it shine to those around us.
As we approach these darker days, may we each remember the light we carry — small acts of kindness, gestures of generosity, simple smiles and “hellos” — and how it all matters. 🌘
