With the support of the National Geographic Society (National Geographic Society) and the commitment of Dina Buchbinder, National Geographic Explorer, together with the Education for Sharing team, different children across Mexico are discovering something in common: everything in nature is connected. 🇲🇽✨🌿

Through play and exploration, children move from noticing the differences between regions, such as fruit trees in Jalisco and medicinal plants in Veracruz, to understanding how every element of nature plays a role in the same natural system. 🌳🌱🌎

Through games, laughter, and nature-inspired activities, like pretending to be bats in the dark or moving like different animals, they discover an essential truth: everything on our planet is interconnected. 🦇💫

What participants enjoy most about Nature for Sharing is going outdoors, connecting with one another, and putting into words what they feel when witnessing the cycle of life up close. ✨
From observing how something decomposes to give life, to understanding the daily hard work of the animals that surround us. 🐜🐝

Understanding what helps nature thrive and what we should never do is the first step toward becoming its best protectors. 💚🌎

In Baja California, México, children discover that observing their surroundings is the first step toward collaborating as a community.

This is how we experienced it:
🎨 Exploration: We created our own observation guides.
🔎 Observation: We took a closer look at local biodiversity.
💻 Exchange: We shared learnings with children from the U.S.

Learning from nature is learning to listen to one another and recognize that everything is interconnected. 🌱

We are turning the schoolyard into the world’s greatest laboratory! 🏫🍃

Listening to these boys and girls reminds us that:
🔎 Playing is researching: When you look for insects, you learn exactly where they live!
🎨 Art is science: Drawing plants helps us understand and record their unique features.
🌐 Learning has no borders: Virtual exchanges with other schools are the most incredible way to grow together.

As one of our young explorers says: “Nature takes you out to explore, and then that nature helps you learn about the world.” 🌎✨

🌎💚 Learning comes alive through nature.

With the support of the National Geographic Society () and the commitment of Dina Buchbinder, National Geographic Explorer, together with the Education for Sharing team, we connect children from Mexico and the United States to rediscover their bond with nature. 🌱🤝

How do we do it? We explore the principles of nature’s intelligence through play and art. Today, we’re sharing two of them:

🌿 Multifunctionality: In San Diego, students create observation guides to discover that in nature nothing has a single purpose—everything serves many functions.

🌱 Regeneration: We document how life finds its way forward, learning to identify the signs of ecosystem recovery.

Through games, species observation, and artistic creations, we transform the schoolyard into a living classroom. 🎨💻 From Ensenada to California, learning knows no borders. 🇲🇽 🇺🇸

2025 was a historic year! 🚀✨

Thanks to each one of you, we were able to bring the power of learning through play to thousands of people. We closed the year with full hearts and these numbers that inspire us to aim even higher:

⭐ Over 117,700 hearts reached. 👩‍🏫 9,800 educators transforming their classrooms. 👧👦 And more than 105,880 girls, boys, and young people learning through play.
