CDHA San Diego is proud to recognize our member, Merna Marcus, RDH, BDS, MSDH, for receiving Third Place in the 2026 Dentsply Sirona Graduate Student Clinician Research Award, presented through the American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA).

Merna’s research explored food insecurity and housing instability among dental hygiene students, bringing attention to challenges that can impact student well-being and academic success.

From clinician to educator and researcher, Merna continues to stay involved in our profession and our San Diego dental hygiene community. We are grateful to have her as part of our component and happy to celebrate this meaningful milestone alongside her. 💙

✨ Cheers to a Bright Future in Dental Hygiene! ✨

The CDHA San Diego Component was honored to host our Student Mixer celebrating and welcoming the newest graduates into the dental hygiene profession.

It was wonderful to bring together students and graduates from Southwestern College and Concorde Career College, along with faculty members, instructors, and practicing dental hygienists from our local community. The evening was filled with meaningful conversations, networking, laughter, and excitement as we celebrated this important milestone.

We are incredibly proud of all the hard work, dedication, and perseverance that brought these graduates to this moment. We look forward to watching them grow, succeed, and make a positive impact on the oral health of the communities they serve.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make this event such a success. We loved meeting each of you and are excited to welcome you to the dental hygiene profession!

Participants will learn how to create persuasive talking points that effectively communicate the importance of periodontal treatment to patients. By the end of this course, participants will have the knowledge and skills to navigate the complexities of periodontal patient care ultimately achieving better treatment acceptance and improved clinical outcomes.
