Every Moment Matters Because of You. 💜
Recently, LightBridge Hospice Community Foundation (LBHCF) had the privilege of creating a very special Simple Gift for one of our hospice patients and his family. Our Simple Gifts program provides thoughtful gifts and experiences that are as unique as the patients and families we serve, helping make special wishes come true and create meaningful moments during an especially difficult time.
Our patient lives in a modest multigenerational home with his wife, daughter, and five grandchildren. When our social worker learned that he loves Chinese food, we thought a special family dinner from PF Chang’s would be a wonderful way to bring everyone together for an evening of good food, family, and a little normalcy during a very difficult time.
I called and introduced LBHCF to the PF Chang’s team and shared a little about our Simple Gifts program and asked if they might be willing to add some appetizers or desserts to the order or perhaps offer us a discount. To my surprise, something completely unexpected happened. ❤️
When I arrived to pick up the meal, the wonderfully kind PF Chang’s team had gone above and beyond. Not only did they give us an incredibly generous discount on the bill, but the General Manager also explained that he would be donating five adorable plush horses to our hospice patient’s grandchildren to be delivered along with the food! 🐴
The horses are part of PF Chang’s partnership with Starlight Children’s Foundation, where guests can purchase a plush horse for $10 and PF Chang’s will donate one to a hospitalized child with the hopes of brightening their day.
So, because of their generosity, the five grandchildren of our hospice patient each received a special gift to enjoy and five more children facing difficult circumstances also received a horse of their own.
One act of kindness became another. And another.
That is what we mean when we say, “Every Moment Matters Because of You”. Through Simple Gifts, we create meaningful moments for hospice patients and their loved ones, from favorite meals and small celebrations to once-in-a-lifetime wishes. Your support helps make those moments possible.
