Position: Ticketing Assistant (Part Time)

The Ticketing Assistant will support the Ticketing Manager with the day-to-day operations of the Balboa Park Explorer Pass. Using your customer service and data input skills you will provide an excellent guest experience to all Explorers and partners in Balboa Park. As part of a small team, you will work closely with the Ticketing Manager to achieve project and sales goals. Since the Balboa Park Explorer Pass office is open 7 days a week, the Ticketing Assistant plays an important role as a Saturday Explorer Ticketing Representative and provides holiday coverage, as needed.

Status: Part-time (24-28 hours a week, Saturday 9:00am-5:00pm required), Hourly, Non-Exempt. Please note: this role may be required to work holidays as needed.

Pay: $15.25-$16 per hour

Reports to: Brenda Castillo Sanchez, Ticketing Manager

Vaccine Status: As of November 1, 2021, new employees must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 unless a medical or religious exemption would apply. Must provide proof of vaccine status upon employment.

San Diego Museum of Art, San Diego Junior Theatre, The Old Globe, Fleet Science Center, Japanese Friendship Garden, San Diego Zoo, San Diego Zoo Safari Park (San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance) and Balboa Park Cultural Partnership are proud partners of Taste of December Nights!

There were many questions regarding this year’s Taste of December Nights event. Yes, it will be a drive thru event but the most important question that we need to address is, “Will there be DEEP FRIED SNICKERS and OREOS?” And the answer is:

YES!!!!

December Nights will feature 20 food truck/food vendors from past December Nights in the Inspiration Point parking lots near Balboa Park. There will be corn dogs, homemade ice cream, soul food, Cajun food, kettle corn, funnel cakes, DEEP FRIED SNICKERS and OREOS, and much more! Balboa Park’s House of Pacific Relations International Cottages will also be selling dessert boxes from numerous countries!

The first 500 cars to arrive to the event each day will receive a Taste of December Nights tote bag filled with festive items. Want even more holiday cheer? Prizes will also be given to lucky guests throughout the day from San Diego’s finest destinations and Balboa Park organizations! There will be live entertainment featuring ballet folklorico, dance, flamenco, mariachis, bands, and more.

The three-day event will be held Friday, December 3 through Sunday, December 5 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day.

You’ll have to remain in your car and safety protocols by the county will be enforced. But hey, it’ll be all good once you get your deep fried goodies!

Rosa Parks Day honors an American Civil Rights hero twice a year on February 4th and December 1st.

The California State Legislature created Rosa Parks Day and first celebrated February 4, 2000. California chose to recognize the date of Rosa Park’s birth. Ohio and Oregon celebrate on the date of her arrest, December 1.
