The San Diego Union-Tribune story makes it clear – the support isn’t there for a government takeover of the electric grid. The City is already struggling to deal with affordable housing, homelessness, and fixing local streets and roads. Adding a risky government takeover of the electric grid will only hurt the other issues the City is facing.

As the San Diego Union-Tribune reports, the initiative to force a government takeover of our City’s electric grid fell far short of its 80,000-signature goal. It’s clear – forcing San Diegans to pay $9.3 Billion in new debt for a government takeover of the electric grid will never be a good idea.
