August 24, 2023, at 8:00 am - Join us in-person for a true All-Star roundtable with San Diego mediators Hon. Margo Hoy (Ret.) (Signature Resolution), Judy Copeland (West Coast Resolution Group), Kristin Rizzo (Judicate West), and Ana Sambold (ADR Services, Inc.). We will break into small groups to spend 10-15 minutes with each mediator. Don't miss this opportunity to hear from and ask questions to four of the best and most respected mediators in San Diego. This program is proudly being co-produced by the Alternative Dispute Resolution Section, Labor and Employment Law Section, Estate Planning Trust and Probate Law Section, Family Law Section, and the New Lawyer Division. September 6, 2023, at 5:30 pm Speed Networking Mentorship Mixer - Join the New Lawyer Division at this informal speed meet-and-greet and connect with mentors! Law students and new lawyers (0-6 years of practice) will have the opportunity to informally meet experienced attorneys (7+ years of practice) to talk shop. You'll discuss lawyering in San Diego, learn how best to succeed in the early stages of your legal career, and make informal mentoring contacts in various areas of practice. Free CLE for Members in their first 7 years of practice: Join us on August 10, 2023, 12 pm for a dynamic presentation on Juvenile Dependency Law by Hon. Alexander M. Calero, Judge in the Juvenile Dependency Court. Hon. Calero will share unique expertise from his experience on the bench, explain how he joined the bench, and provide practical insight on how to be a successful attorney. Looking for ways to serve those in need in the San Diego community?

April is Global Volunteer Month, so the New Lawyers Division is partnering with the San Diego Urban League Young Professionals to hand out bags of hygiene supplies to people experiencing homelessness in San Diego. Lawyers and their families are encouraged to donate hygiene supplies in advance via this Amazon wish list and/or volunteer their time to help bag and distribute the products on Saturday, April 29, 2023, between 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. All volunteers will meet up afterward for a non-hosted social brunch. Hope to see you there!
