The new office groundbreaking for South Sudanese community center and other organizations as partners

The $98 million Cuatro development in City Heights, taking up four buildings, will have rent-restricted units for extremely low-income residents earning 30 percent to 60 percent of area median income. That is about $28,950 to $57,900 a year for an individual.

It is great to meet with San Diego City council president at Southern Sudanese community center today.

Refugees and new Americans are a large and integral part of San Diego’s diverse community and have contributed immensely to our region’s growth. It was an honor to present the San Diego Refugee Communities Coalition (SDRCC) with a proclamation recognizing our refugee community as well as the work of SDRCC to effectively address challenges these communities have faced.

SDRCC is a collaboration of 12 ethnic community based organizations representing refugee communities from across Africa, the Middle East, Afghanistan, Burma, and Haiti. Learn more about SDRCC at sandiegorefugeecommunities.org

It is fall 2020, children back to online classes. The Southern Sudanese community request tutoring to help needed children for their homework. The most areas for homework are Math, chemistry, English writing? Biology, and physics. Back to school supplies for South Sudanese community center youth, the community will give out supplies to over 160 children from first grade through 12 grade, each child will get note book, pen and pencil, highlight, glue, crayons...as school will start by end of August, 2020
