POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Bursar is responsible for managing all Accounts Receivables activity and ensuring compliance with all regulatory bodies.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following outlines the basic responsibilities of this position. Other duties are to be assigned as necessary.

BROAD RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Bursar is responsible for receiving and disbursing monies on student accounts and entering data on the master student database (CMDS). The Bursar is also responsible for interacting with students in a courteous and professional manner.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Oversee all Accounts Receivables including billing, collections, cash receipts and disbursements, and related tasks.
• Post accounts receivables to student accounts and monitor to maintain a zero balance
• Invoice students each semester
• Process refunds
• Responsible for third party billing
o Review contracts and renew as needed
o Respond to all inquiries regarding attendance and classes for payment processing

• Data Entry into student master database (CMDS)
• Review credit and debit reports
• Provide monthly accounts receivable reports on monies received
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies
• Approve registration forms, add-drop forms, withdrawal forms, and requests for leave of absence as well as transcript requests.
• Perform Title IV recalculations for students withdrawing and processing related adjustments
• Review all cash sheets and loan roster postings prior to forwarding
• Counsel students as need about various monetary issues including by not limited to loan counseling.
• Supervise one staff member including completing time sheets
• Represent the Bursar’s office at University meetings
• Provide leadership for Student Services through effective communication and meaningful collaboration
• Set and maintain high levels of customer service

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises the Student Accounts Representative

QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND/OR RELATED EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in finance or related field and work related experience

CORE COMPETENCIES:
• Bookkeeping skills
• Strong customer service skills
• Must be organized and detail oriented
• Computer skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
