Out of the Boat Building confidence and strength in underprivileged children through an appreciation of the water.

Out of the Boat is a non-profit organization founded by certified swim instructor and lifeguard Michelle Rodley. It started in the summer of 2004 when Michelle shared her passion for the water with children at a orphanage in Tijuana, Mexico by teaching swimming lessons at a local water park. Her dream of seeing underprivileged children gain confidence in their lives by gaining confidence in the wa

ter has become a reality. Our comprehensive swim program incorporates professional swimming lesson, surfing lessons, water safety awareness, surf and camping trips, and a partnership with the Tijuana Lifeguards which provide our most successful children with placements in the Tijuana Junior Lifeguarding Program.
