Today, we went back to our sea lavender site at Los Peñasquitos Canyon Preserve! 😇

We watered the baby plants that we installed back in December—they are thriving!! We also continued removing invasive sea lavender around the area to promote native growth. Then, we planted about a dozen new native species atop the hill. ⛰️

It has been lovely restoring this site over time and seeing it flourish and grow! Thank you everyone who came out to help with today’s project—hope to see you all next time. 🫶

On Saturday, we held our Zoology Workshop at Carmel Valley Library! 🦒

Our participants learned about the diverse animal species that make up our planet’s ecosystems and the process of evolution. Our activities included a simulation of bird beak adaptations and real shark teeth necklaces! 🦈 🌎

Thank you to our partner Carmel Valley Library! See you all at our next workshop. 😌

Today, we worked on the Gablewood Trailhead! 🌱

We hiked down to the patches on invasive mustard plants, and were able to pull out a lot of the plants to make room for native species to grow! 🧤

The canyon was beautiful and we worked to aid any areas in need! Thank you to everyone who came to help out today! See you next time! 👋

Today, we held our Ecology Explorers Workshop at the Carmel Valley Library! 🌻🔎

Together, explored the intricacies of our planet’s ecosystems and how science connects all life on Earth.
From discussing the effects of climate change to drawing our own ecosystems and creating fun take-home green onion planters, we learned lots and had even more fun!🪴🎨

Thanks to the CV library for hosting us - see you all next time. 👋

On Sunday, we went back out to our sea lavender site at Los Peñasquitos Canyon Preserve! 🏞️

We planted dozens of new native species that were gifted to the ranger team by the A.L. Clinton Foundation, bringing new life to this long-term restoration site. 🪴🪏

It’s been lovely watching and helping this site heal over the last year and a half! Thank you to everyone who came out to volunteer this holiday season, and see you all next time. 🙌👋
