The Karen Cooper Foundation

The Karen Cooper Foundation As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, our mission is to bring Christmas joy to shelter dogs by gifting toys and treats each year.

Honoring Karen Cooper’s legacy, we strive to make one day very special for shelter dogs while raising awareness for adoptions. Karen Cooper’s love for dogs has shown throughout her entire life. Beyond contributing to countless charities, every Christmas season Karen would fill up her vehicle with dog treats and deliver them to local Humane Societies. Her goal was to ensure that on Christmas Day, a

s many dogs as possible would not be forgotten. Today Karen’s family, Bob and Michele, are continuing Karen’s legacy by gifting as many shelter dogs as possible across the country each Christmas season.

💙 Meet Buster - a big, lovable boy looking for his second chance.

Buster is a handsome 5-year-old American Bulldog/Boxer mix currently at Animal Friends of the Valleys. He was surrendered by his family on July 23 after their new baby developed a severe allergy to him. After living happily in a home, finding himself at the shelter must have been incredibly confusing.

But Buster hasn’t let his circumstances change his sweet spirit. At 94 pounds, he’s a whole lot of love with a playful personality. He’s sweet, gentle, full of s***k, housebroken, crate-trained, knows “sit,” and has lived happily with adults, children, and another dog. He also passed his cat test!

Now he just needs someone to give him the second chance he deserves.

Meet Biscuit 🐾

Biscuit is a 10-month-old Staffy mix currently waiting for her forever home at City of Corona Animal Shelter. This beautiful black and white girl came to the shelter as a stray and, sadly, has spent a large part of her young life waiting for someone to see how special she truly is.

Biscuit is a fun-loving, energetic pup who is full of personality. She loves attention, enjoys playing fetch, and her absolute favorite thing is water! Whether it’s splashing in a kiddie pool or chasing a sprinkler, Biscuit is happiest when she’s having fun and making memories. 🌊🐾

She would make an amazing adventure companion for someone who enjoys an active lifestyle - whether that means trips to the beach, lake, river, or simply exploring the world together. Biscuit appears to do well with other dogs and is looking for a family who can provide the structure, guidance, and love every young dog deserves.

Shelter life can be overwhelming for a puppy, and Biscuit is ready for the chance to grow, learn, and experience life outside the kennel. Behind her playful “wild child” energy is a sweet girl who is patiently waiting for the person who will give her the chance to shine.
Biscuit has been waiting too long. Could you be the forever family she’s been hoping for? ❤️

For adoption information, please contact Corona Animal Shelter at (951) 736-2309.

Not able to adopt? Sharing Biscuit’s story can help her reach the person who has been waiting for a dog just like her. 🐾

At the Karen Cooper Foundation, we bring joy to shelter dogs during the Christmas season by delivering toys and treats to shelters across the country. Throughout the year, we support shelters like Corona Animal Shelter by helping share the stories of incredible dogs still waiting for their forever families. Every share can help a shelter dog’s story reach home. ❤️

❤️ Tippi’s Happily Ever After 🐾

Some dogs just need a little extra time to find where they truly belong. ❤️

Meet Tippi - a tiny 5-pound Terrier mix with a huge personality and an even bigger heart. When she arrived at Baja Animal Sanctuary, she was a playful, happy puppy who loved people, got along with other dogs, and never let her crooked spine slow her down.

Tippi was placed in two homes, but both adoptions ended quickly. Puppies require patience, commitment, and understanding - and sometimes finding the right family takes time.

After welcoming her back, BAS Supervisor Karla and Sanctuary Director Jaime realized something special… Tippi had already found her forever family. ❤️

Today, Tippi is happily home with Jaime and Karla, exactly where she was meant to be. Her story is a beautiful reminder that every rescue dog deserves someone who sees their heart and chooses them forever. 🐶✨

While Tippi has her happily ever after, many other amazing animals at Baja Animal Sanctuary are still waiting for theirs.

🐾 To meet adoptable pets from Baja Animal Sanctuary, visit their website or attend their adoption events at:

💔 We first shared Oaty's story over a year ago, and heartbreakingly, she is still waiting for her forever family.

Since 2024, sweet Oatmeal Molasses ("Oaty") has been patiently waiting at Rancho Coastal Humane Society for someone to choose her. Could that someone be you? 🐾❤️

Oaty is a 5-year-old Terrier mix with a heart full of love. She enjoys cuddles, toys, walks, training, and cozy naps after a few happy zoomies. This 41-pound sweetheart forms deep bonds with her people and has so much love to give.

Oaty's journey hasn't been easy. She was surrendered with her puppies, and while each of them found loving homes, Oaty was left behind. Through Rancho Coastal Humane Society's F.O.C.A.S. Program, she was given a second chance - and now she is waiting for someone to give her the loving home she deserves.

Oaty can be shy at first and needs a patient adopter who will allow her to build trust at her own pace. A securely fenced yard would help her continue gaining confidence, and Rancho Coastal Humane Society's Foster-to-Adopt Program is available to help her transition into her new home.

❤️ Imagine if this is the year Oaty finally gets to spend Christmas in a home of her own instead of a shelter.

Please help us give Oaty another chance by sharing her story. Her forever family may see this because of you. 🐶❤️

At the Karen Cooper Foundation, we are passionate about bringing Christmas joy to shelter dogs. Nothing would make us happier than seeing Oaty celebrating the holidays with the family she has been waiting for. ❤️🎄🐾

✨ Meet Ruby - a little bundle of joy waiting for her forever family! 🐾❤️

Ruby is a 1-year-old spayed Pit Bull Terrier mix at The City of Moreno Valley Government Animal Services, with a big personality and an even bigger heart. This playful, athletic girl is always ready for an adventure, whether that means exploring the outdoors, learning new things, or simply spending quality time with her people.

Ruby is smart, eager to please, and already knows her manners! She knows sit, offers her paw for a handshake, walks beautifully on a leash, and takes treats with the gentlest touch. 🐶

But what makes Ruby truly special is her ability to connect with those around her. She’s confident, kind, and thoughtful - greeting new friends with excitement while also respecting when another dog needs a little space. Ruby isn’t just fun-loving; she’s emotionally intelligent and eager to be part of a family.

Whether it’s playtime, a walk, a favorite toy, or simply being by your side, Ruby is happiest when she’s included. She’s ready to bring laughter, loyalty, and endless tail wags to the lucky family who chooses her. ❤️

🎄 This holiday season, our foundation is proud to bring a little Christmas magic to shelter dogs like Ruby - dogs who have so much love to give but are still waiting for someone to see them. Through sharing their stories, creating awareness, and helping these deserving pups get noticed, we hope to bring them one step closer to the forever homes they deserve.

🐾 Meet Pollie! ❤️

Waiting at San Diego County Animal Services is a very special girl named Pollie (A1935544). This lovable 11-year-old Doberman mix has been waiting for her forever family since December 2024 and has been thriving in a foster home since May 2025.

Pollie proves that age is just a number! She still loves to play, has plenty of energy, and is ready to share her big heart with the right family. She's fully potty trained, crate trained, respectful in the home, and gets along well with both dogs and cats. Summer heat is here - and it doesn’t take blazing temperatures for those sweet paws to feel the burn. Sidewalks, streets, and sand can heat up quickly, even on days that don’t feel extreme to us.

A quick reminder as many parts of the country head into heat wave season: always check the ground before walks and help keep those paws safe, cool, and comfortable. 🐾❤️

This reminder is worth sharing every year. 🇺🇸🐾

As we head into the Fourth of July, let’s do our part to keep our dogs safe, calm, and secure. Fireworks and holiday activity can be overwhelming for pets, and a little preparation goes a long way in preventing lost pets and helping keep our local shelters from becoming overwhelmed.

Have a safe and happy Fourth of July - for you and your furry family members! ❤️

🎓🐾 Tippy Has Graduated... Now She Just Needs Her Greatest Gift: A Forever Home. ❤️

Meet Tipperary ("Tippy"), a 6-year-old Shepherd mix, and one of the smartest and best-trained dogs at Rancho Coastal Humane Society in Encinitas, California.
After all of her hard work, Tippy has officially graduated with top honors. She's potty trained, incredibly intelligent, loves learning, enjoys puzzle games and training, and is happiest when she's spending time with her people. Once properly introduced, she forms strong, loyal bonds and will be a devoted companion.
With her moderate energy level, Tippy loves relaxing at home, exploring the yard in search of the perfect stick, and simply being with the people she loves. She thrives in a calm, predictable home where she can truly shine.
Tippy is looking for a family where she can be the only pet - someone who will appreciate her intelligence, loyalty, and wonderfully unique personality.

Even better, her adoption comes with a full scholarship from Rancho Coastal Humane Society, including:
🐾 Complimentary training and behavioral support
🐾 Free onsite veterinary services, pet food, and supplies
🐾 A monthly cash stipend to help support her care
