Last week at the Human Milk Symposium Summit, the San Diego County Breastfeeding Coalition gathered with community leaders, clinicians, lactation professionals, and advocates during the pre-conference Community Working Group meeting to celebrate something we’ve been building together for months.
✨ We officially launched our new Online Breastfeeding Resource Directory.
This digital tool expands our long-standing Breastfeeding Resource Guide into a searchable, interactive platform that helps families quickly find trusted lactation support near them. With a map feature and directory of providers, families can now connect with IBCLCs, peer counselors, clinics, and community resources across the county with just a few clicks.
The launch sparked meaningful conversations about access, equity, and how we continue strengthening lactation support systems for all families in our region.

The online resource directory was developed and is maintained by the San Diego County Breastfeeding Coalition, informed by members of the Community Advisory Board with support from Kaiser Permanente grant funding through partnership with the San Diego County Childhood Obesity Initiative - funded by the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency and facilitated by the UC San Diego Center for Community Health in collaboration with the UC San Diego Human Milk Institute.
