It is a great honor and pleasure to announce at approximately 8:14 PM PST on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, WESTLEY MOORE of Troop 301 earned the highest rank in Scouting America, that of EAGLE SCOUT!

The Eagle Board of Review was impressed with Westley’s kind, friendly nature, his character and citizenship, and commitment to family, community, his friends, and his troop.

The Board recognized Westley’s volunteerism as Secretary of the Scripps Ranch Garden Club. They appreciated Westley’s desire to become an industrial, mechanical, or civil engineer in an effort to leave a lasting impact that will not fade away.

The Board recognized Westley’s dedication to Troop 301 as Troop Webmaster; his eagerness to teach younger Scouts, whether it be over Zoom during COVID-19 lockdowns, during troop sponsored Webelos Days, or whenever a younger Scout needed help. The Board also appreciated Westley’s recognition by Troop 301 as one who volunteered on more Eagle Projects than any other Scout. The Board recognized Westley for his multiple long-term Scouting adventures including 1 Mataguay Scout Reservation, 2 Camp Fiesta Island, 2 Emerald Bay summer camps, and the Upper Colorado Canoe Trip; his 37 camping nights, 26 hours of service, Cub Scouting’s Arrow of Light, the National Outdoor Achievement Award for Camping, and 33 merit badges!

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR 39TH SCRIPPS RANCH TO THE SEA! (SR2DaC!) HIKING CREW!
What a beautiful day for a 20-mile hike! A huge congratulations goes out to our 39th SR2daC! hiking crew!
A big thank you goes out to hiking crew leader Dr. Sanders, and hiking crew adults Mr. McNulty and Mrs. Gum for making this hike possible!
The troop would also like to thank our amazing aid station volunteers Mrs. Yamashiro and son Aiden, and Mr. and Dr. Twu for helping keep our hiking crew strong!
Scouts who attended this hike were (pictured below): Joel Jose, Manit Chauhan, Arjun Jarapati, Cameron Twu, Parker Cheung, and our amazing Senior Patrol Leader Cooper McNulty.
Awesome job Crew 39! You make us proud!!!

Thank you to the Scouts and Scouters of Troop 301 that placed US Flags at El Camino Cemetery to honor Veterans today as part of Memorial Day Weekend.

Troop 301 at the Rancho Mesa District Volunteer Appreciation Dinner: all got a bell to ring, some went home with a new car, one got the District Award of Merit, and one Scouter was knotty 😁.

We are so grateful to SDPD Officer Laco for his presentations and question/answer sessions with our Troop 301 Scouts in the Citizenship In The Community Merit Badge Class. He has done this many times over the years.

17 years ago today... I think this was our first Tour de Scripps Ranch. Our other 10 milers to prep for SR2DaC!/Yosemite/Philmont were the Ellie Lane/Iron Mountain Loop and a loop in Penasquitos Canyon.
