WHAT A BLASTJ! AGUA CALIENTE WAS SO MUCH FUN!!!

What an amazing campout!
Lots of heat! Lots of fun!!!
Playing nighttime monkey in the middle in the pool was a huge hit!
A big giant thank you goes out to the parents who supported this campout. A special thank you goes out to Karthik Rao, who jumped in last minute to help with transportation. We couldn’t have done it without you Mr. Rao!

HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL AWARDEES AT THE OCTOBER COURT OF HONOR!

Just wanted to take this time to congratulate all of our amazing Scouts who accounted for 30 rank advancements and over 170 merit badges since June!
**Notable awardees were Manit for earning his 350 mile patch and the Troop 301 50-mile Afoot/Afloat award, and our Yosemite Hiking Crew that consisted of Dr. Sanders, Mr. McNulty, Mr. Alla, Mr. Aidan Sanders, Suhan, Manit, Mayur, and Karthik.
**We also awarded Mrs. Quinto with a Troop 301 Distinguished Volunteer Award for her years of support to the troop.

DOS PICOS CAMPOUT WAS ANOTHER HUGE SUCCESS!

A huge thank you goes out to the parents who stayed over in support of me and the boys.
In addition to that, we had 3 older Scouts who stepped up to help out new Scouts with any remaining requirements.
Those older Scouts were Suhan, Arjun , and Bala.
**It’s this kind of giving back that makes Troop 301 the best!
**Due to those efforts, Scoutmaster Cronin was able to complete one Tenderfoot, and two First Class Scoutmaster Conferences!
**To finish up their First Class Cooking Requirements, Grubmasters on this trip did an exceptional job feeding our crew. Acting Grubmasters on this campout were Parker, Daniel and Jonathan, Elon, Micah, and Brenner.
**Great job everyone!!

**The Staff and facilities are amazing! Here we are having fun pointing out our awesome Senior Patrol Leader Luke.
**Over 140 awards, perfect campsite inspection scores, 1st place finishes in the campwide game/Staff Hunt/Aquacade/Chess Tournament by Ryan!!! . . .and tons of fun!
**THANK YOU TO ALL OF THE STAFF AND TO ALL OF THE PARENTS WHO DROVE AND/OR STAYED WITH US!! --WE CANNOT DO IT WITHOUT YOU!

Congratulations to the Scouts, Scouters, and adults who attended Camp Fiesta Island Summer Camp!
Under the leadership of SPL Jacen, Scouts had an amazing time at this summer camp!
CFI Scouts had a blast while accumulating 99 merit badges!
As with Camp Mataguay, the troop is excited to report our CFI crew also earned the prestigious Honor Troop Award!

It is a great honor and pleasure to announce at approximately 7:02 PM PDT on Monday, July 6, 2026, DANE WALKOWIAK-VARGAS of Troop 301 earned the highest rank in Scouting America, that of EAGLE SCOUT!

The Eagle Board of Review was impressed with Dane’s kind, friendly nature, his character and citizenship, and commitment to excellence in academics and athletics. The Board appreciated Dane’s volunteerism, and his dedication to family, friends, and fellow students.

The Board recognized Dane’s 4.41 GPA, 3 AP, 2 Honors, and 2 duel enrollment classes. The Board was impressed with Dane’s involvement with athletics, whether as an accomplished Varsity Wrestler, or as a 3-year Varsity Defensive Starter and Valued Utility Player for the Scripps Ranch High School Varsity Football Team. The Board appreciated Dane’s many wrestling accomplishments: All-City Conference winner earning regional top rank, City Conference Champion in 2023, 2x Master Qualifier, 2x CIF Select, and 5x Tournament Winner.

The Board appreciated Dane’s volunteerism as a Sharp Memorial Hospital intern along with his dedication to the Scripps Ranch Community and St. Gregory’s Catholic church.

The Board enjoyed learning about the Weightlifting Club and Flag-Football League Dane founded. The Board respected Dane’s efforts to welcome new student members as well as his support so that students could be inspired to thrive and be successful.

The Board appreciated Dane’s dedication to Troop 301 as Troop Librarian, and 2x Patrol Leader; his commitment to mentor younger Scouts; his multiple long-term Scouting adventures that include Mataguay Scout Reservation, Camp Bighorn, Emerald Bay, and 2 Camp Fiesta Island summer camps; his 42 Camping Nights, 75 hiking miles (including 3 Scripps Ranch to the Sea 20-mile hikes), 47.5 hours of service, Cub Scouting’s Arrow of Light, the National Outdoor Achievement Award for Camping, and 30 merit badges!

It is a great honor and pleasure to announce at approximately 8:14 PM PST on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, WESTLEY MOORE of Troop 301 earned the highest rank in Scouting America, that of EAGLE SCOUT!

The Eagle Board of Review was impressed with Westley’s kind, friendly nature, his character and citizenship, and commitment to family, community, his friends, and his troop.

The Board recognized Westley’s volunteerism as Secretary of the Scripps Ranch Garden Club. They appreciated Westley’s desire to become an industrial, mechanical, or civil engineer in an effort to leave a lasting impact that will not fade away.

The Board recognized Westley’s dedication to Troop 301 as Troop Webmaster; his eagerness to teach younger Scouts, whether it be over Zoom during COVID-19 lockdowns, during troop sponsored Webelos Days, or whenever a younger Scout needed help. The Board also appreciated Westley’s recognition by Troop 301 as one who volunteered on more Eagle Projects than any other Scout. The Board recognized Westley for his multiple long-term Scouting adventures including 1 Mataguay Scout Reservation, 2 Camp Fiesta Island, 2 Emerald Bay summer camps, and the Upper Colorado Canoe Trip; his 37 camping nights, 26 hours of service, Cub Scouting’s Arrow of Light, the National Outdoor Achievement Award for Camping, and 33 merit badges!

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR 39TH SCRIPPS RANCH TO THE SEA! (SR2DaC!) HIKING CREW!
What a beautiful day for a 20-mile hike! A huge congratulations goes out to our 39th SR2daC! hiking crew!
A big thank you goes out to hiking crew leader Dr. Sanders, and hiking crew adults Mr. McNulty and Mrs. Gum for making this hike possible!
The troop would also like to thank our amazing aid station volunteers Mrs. Yamashiro and son Aiden, and Mr. and Dr. Twu for helping keep our hiking crew strong!
Scouts who attended this hike were (pictured below): Joel Jose, Manit Chauhan, Arjun Jarapati, Cameron Twu, Parker Cheung, and our amazing Senior Patrol Leader Cooper McNulty.
