Dear friends,
We come to you today asking for support for our beloved Mateus Hemmingson, the sweet son of Danielle and Luke. Mateus, born with CHARGE syndrome, recently went through a 13-hour open-heart surgery in Cincinnati. While his heart is healing well, the surgery left him with severe complications, including paralysis of his vocal cords and the inability to breathe on his own. His family is now working to transfer him to Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego for a life-saving surgery by a specialist who has previously cared for him. This emergency airlift must happen in the next few days, and while the family has insurance, the cost of the airlift is not fully covered.
